Hello Ecf,

So I have had my pro-vari for a few months now and have always used cartos with my JonBoy Lava tank and I do indeed love it. I am looking for something though to "try" juices and I have heard atomizers with drip-tips are the way to go for this. I have never used a Atomizer in itself only the cartos which are built in of course. I also know that certain atomizers only work on certain mods. I need help trying to find a rather inexpensive but quality atomizer/drip-tip to use on my Pro-Vari Mini. Any advice on atomizers would be appreciated also I am curious to the exact purpose of a "Drip Shield". Thanks in advance and look forward to hearing your answers!,

Do you have cartos... You can use those with a drip tip.. Provape carries a drip tip, as well. Don't use drip tip atomizer style anymore but .. the drip shield is in place to prevent a direct drop of eliquid down the center post either to a hot coil... then, you hear that all too familiar snap and bye bye atomizer or If no snap, run high risk of direct flooding and with the old style atomizers, the more you flooded you atty, the quicker the coil diminished to a point that it was useless for heat production ( well, first it would start expanding the amount of time between activation of the coils to actual being hot enough to produce vaper and then, it would basically reach its final diminished demise of a slight milli-puff of smoke and bye-bye atty.

If you are just planning on getting standard atties ... best bet is to look around for 510 LR atties / no need for a drip tip.. Just roll the atty to the side like your tanks (45 degrees) and slide 2-4 drops down the inside edge of the atty... let it soak for a few minutes ( batting in these is less dense than cartos so it doesn't take too long to soak) walla...

Just do a shot-gun ( vaping a standard atty or even a carto directly off the tube without a tip or tipped-tank) I always started on these with 2 drops and then did a test burn when they were fresh out of pack. Then, I would do the 2-4 drop just to get started. Try about two vapes and if it still was not right, I would a drops in increments of 2 until I felt there was enough eliquid to get a good vape and last for a while. LR(atties) have a lower resistance coil so these will probably be the closest you can get to resemble the vape with these type of atties to cartos and the like of today.

Honestly, I have not even been looking around for these anymore otherwise, I would try to point you in the right direction. The last place I think I got a good deal and a good supply of these was either DIY flavorshack or Esmokeshop (I don't think Esmoke is open anymore..not sure). You know.. the first thing that goes when you get old,.. after your hair starts moving around, anyways... is your memory, oh well!!

p.s. with a vv mode .. you may want to start out on those old style terd with a 3.3 volt setting / lowest wattage first.. then adjust in increments of 2 volts after you ensure that you have your batting wet enough. If you have been using wicking in the tank systems its about the same.. cartos batting is about the same way too..... You will just have to use your judgement on how wet you need the batting cant really be explained. A little practice in this area, because it is a little different than cartos, will be necessary for you to be able to get the right hits out of the vapor and be at least comparable to the cartos. Dripping this type of atty at too high of a voltage using a vv will burn through that juice really quick and possibly give the batting a burnt taste if your not careful.... Although that is probably worthless to say because you probably are experienced enough to deduct that.

Hope this helps,

Just check the supplier list on the front page.

Order a standard ohm atomizer (not LR or HR) and a drip tip. If you enjoy paying more, order a dripping atomizer.

I used to use "authentic Joye 510" atomizers. It doesn't matter that it's a Pro-thingy PV or not. However, you may wish to search for "drip shield" too.

I have a Provari Mini and tend to use Cisco 306 bridgeless atomisers for testing juices. You would need the atomiser and a 306 canon drip tip - the long one. If you get a short one the juice sometimes spits as these things can get hot. Perfect for juice testing though. 3 drops to taste the juice, vape it and when you lose the flavour put in 3 drops of your next juice and so on. No need to clean in between.

Don't think you can beat the Vision Eternity RBA for tasting juices. See Busardo's YouTube review:

A PBusardo Review - Vision Eternity RBA - YouTube

Advantages with the Eternity is that you can vape a few drops, or over a ml (35 - 40 drops). Also, has both a dripping mode and a semi-tank mode. Amazing that you can change flavors without having to clean heads between flavor changes. Wow...and how...perfect for taste testing. No filler, no taking apart, no leaking (don't overfill), looks great in stainless, outstanding vape quality, vapor, throat hit and flavor (a tiny bit muted, of course, it's not fully saturated and not same aroma as from a carto vape), cool vape like a bottom coil, a tight draw, etc.

A lot of vendors sell this one. Without checking out competitive pricing, you can see one here:

Vision Eternity

Good luck in your quest! My Vision Eternity is used almost exclusively for taste testing and I love it! Welcome to ECF and Vape On!
