Hey everyone, I'm back after a 6 month hiatus from ecigs. I gave up on them and went back to smoking. One of the reasons was that the atomizers were annoying me, they kept burning out within a week and tasting like crap, probably because of the 5v. If I remember I was using the 501 attys, do I need a high resistance atty or something, can someone recommend what I should get so I don't end up wasting so much money on them?

Also has anything changed (new products, technology etc) since I've been away? Thanks.

I have yet to burn out any of my Joye 510 attys on my 5V PT. All of my attys are Joye, ~2.3 - 2.8 ohms, and not a burnout yet. Haven't bought any in a number of months though, so perhaps they have changed. I also always have about 6 in rotation, and when they start getting sluggish I put them aside until I do a mass cleaning (Polydent/hot water, never alcohol, as that killed more of them then vaping did...not saying you did this, just mentioning it as general atty-life preservation I have found works well). It is possible other brands are not as hearty to higher volts. Many use higher resistance on HV. I don't myself, other than the occasional Joye that is around 3.2 ohms.

Probably the largest change since you have been away is the variable-volt models, which allow you to control voltage to your liking. Also the new CE2 cartomizers, at least for me, have really bumped up the quality of even 3.1V vaping. How a 3.2 ohm carto can have such vaping strength and excellent flavor at lower voltage is beyond me, but they have actually made my original 510 batts preferred power sources now. Think dripping without atty burn for hours on a single fill. Love them, and well worth the price.
