I'm having issues with my atty. On a manual battery, if I hold the button for more than 2 seconds, when I let go it keeps burning until the battery gets to the automatic cutoff at 5-6 seconds. The same atty on an auto battery burns about 1.5 - 2 seconds extra.
I killed an atty last week just checking it, and I blamed the battery (an auto) for not shutting off properly. Did a quick puff to see if it was dry after a cleaning, and it came on and ran until the atty burnt out ( I couldn't unscrew it fast enough when I noticed the problem). I'm starting to think the attys are bad, since these are brand new manuals that I got today, and the same type stuff is happening.
Thankfully I had just put a few drops onto the atty, or this one would have popped as well.
What could be causing this?
Regular Joye 510 atty, and 4 standard auto/manual batteries (2 of each tested). Same issue with all batteries.
