Atomizer longevity on your Cartomizer tank??

I recently started using a (not sure the official name of it) typical cartomizer tank (see-through tank with the atomizer running through the middle) that holds about 2 ml of juice and uses a typical eGo battery.

How long is an atomizer supposed to last? I know this depends on use (I vape heavy with 70/30 PG/VG juice) but seem to be having to replace the atomizer every 6-7 days at $10/pop.

Starting to add up fast and not particularly excited about it. While it works, the unit vapes nicely.

Just curious if this is the normal life span of these types of atomizers OR if there is any type of cleaning/maintenance I could be doing??

Thanks,
Chris

If I understand correctly...are you buying a whole new tank unit when the carto goes bad? If so, then that is a problem.

The whole unit is not per say disposable.... the inner core is called a carto (short for cartomiser) and that is all you need to replace.

A box of 5 runs around $10 and based on your times for lasting should give you about a months use.

The tank is simply a container to hold more juice, and that is what feeds the carto....just replace the carto.

Correct, I am just having to replace the atomizer in the middle (and not the whole tank), and perhaps my cost is related to the brick-and-mortar vendor I use. Time to start looking online, but my underlying question is how long should they last?? I just do not have any expectations and as compared with other atomizers I have used, doesn't seem to last that long.

Just curious if this unit is worth pursuing??

Ok...we are on same page then.

A brick and mortor vender is great for emergencies...but online will render better pricing.

The carto will last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks...dependant on juice used.

I have been vaping for a few years...am pretty much a solid carto vaper...and tank user since they were 1st introduced (15+ tanks and growing). I have a minimum of 12+ PV setups going at any time with 7 of those being tanks alone.

That said...I change out my cartos every week, needed or not. Some last only a few days with certain juices I vape. But, to me nothing is better than a fresh toot off a new carto.

So....a weeks use is pretty standard I feel....there are others that can get several weeks...but...if you look around at some posts, you will find a week is about average per carto.

Hope that helped some.

OK, kinda of newbie here and need to get my terms correct. I guess it is the cartomizer I am talking about, the central portion that is padding surrounding the filament encased with a metal tube. Below is a picture of my unit. It is this part that I am questioning, the central tube inside the clear tank which literally connects to the mouthpiece at top and the battery at the bottom:
