Yes, they are a ripoff IMO. Try cartomizers or CE-2's which are a fillerless cartomizer.

Another option is to drip with a drip tip. More vapor, all juice is used, and a true taste of your liquid.

There is also smartcarts that are pretty neat. I bought a couple of boxes from gotvapes.com and they work really well. All the juice is used except for just a tad in the filler. You fill a tank, put the filler back in, plop it on your atty, and vape away. You can see how much juice you have left. Check them out. Really cheap. $4.99 for a box of 5 and they are reusable.

ive seen those ce-2's and am looking to try one. as for the smartcarts, i have problem with the filler getting stuck to the atomizer and getting pulled out when i remove the cartridge. would you know any solution to that? in keeping the filler in place and not stuck to the atomizer when i pull the cart off?

Try blue foam in your carts. For 510 there are precut pieces cheap at strictlyejuice.com and you can also cut plugs for smaller carts from them (I cut M401 and Joye 306 cart stuffing from them). Or buy the uncut at petsmart - Marineland Rite-Size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept.

I think the blue foam wicks more consistently. I can definitely empty my carts but I really only use carts on M401 and on Joye 306 atty on my 510 which has smaller carts, and use cartos most of the time on KR8 and 510. The blue foam holds its shape, easy in, easy out, easy to wash in running water and pat dry. For a full fill you take it out, fill cart 1/2 way with juice, put the stuffing back and push it into the juice, reposition at the top end of the juice cup and top off with 1-3 drops - whatever it needs on top.

yea i would think the blue foam would wick more easily and consistently because its less dense. ive cut small pieces of poly fill to "plug" the cart with fluid ejuice at the bottom but every time i take the cart off the poly fill sticks to the atomizer and comes out of the cart. any remedy to fix that? other than gluing the poly fill down (which i would never do). and if i were to plug a cart with blue foam would you think it too would stick to the atomizer and come out?

I don't think the blue foam will stick.

Don't spin the cartridge after you have inserted it into the atomizer and set the filler into the cartridge about 1/16" below the top of the cartridge, it will still wick ok.

Yes, factory carts are horrible (at least based on my experience with 901 carts).

You have a few options.

1. Use cartomizers. Great capacity and convenience. But you will still find that you are not using all your juice (though you can keep topping them off). Their convenience it so great that they will always have a place in my life. They are sort of the average of all other options.

2. Direct dripping. This gives full juice utliization, and many believe you also get this best vapor and flavor this way. But it is not convenient in many settings.

3. Blue foam mod to your cartridges. I highly recommend the blue foam mod. It improves standard (at least for 901) cartridges about 1000%. You get exellent juice utilization and greatly increased capacity (though still not as good as a cartomizer). Some people have complained about leaking, but once I got the foam cut properly, that was not a problem at all. There are plenty of other posts to explain how to cut the foam.

I use all three methods depending on my circumstances.

EDIT: Oh yea, I have never had the blue foam stick to the atty.
