The whistle tipped mouthpiece on my 510 always has trapped juice leftover at the bottom of the poly fill.

My questions are:

1.) If I bought a round mouthpiece would it hold more juice (because of more space)?

2.) Would it provide better airflow (because of the more loosely fitted poly fill from having more space in the cartridge)?

3.) Would it provide better wicking (because more juice and loosely fitted poly fill)?

All compared to the whistle tipped mouthpiece.

Thank you.

Round tips are easiest to use. Period. Only 2 steps to fill them.
1. Pull of the top cap. You can use your nail (if you have any) or a paper clip (probably the easiest, but you don't always have a paperclip on you). I use the little poker on my pipe tool (alas! one use out of it I can use now that I'm not smoking pipe).
2. Drop the juice in, and let it soak for about 3-5 minutes (the first time you use it).

I have two problems with these cartomizers.
1. If you over fill it, it'll leak onto your battery.
2. I constantly top it off (every 15-20 drags). But I assume this is an issue with other cartos, so the easy cap off, makes it convenient.

In terms of more liquid: I don't know. You can get XL cartos. But I've never compared the two (whistle tip to round tip).

1. I never tried the round tips

2. The air does not flow through the stuffing. It flows around the outer sides of the juice-holding cup (or side in the case of the whistle tip). Carts can spill juice. And with whistle tips I have gotten tight stuffing, loose stuffing, messy stuffing. I try to set my cart ecigs down with the cart lower, and vape with the cart higher so hopefully any loose juice will go in the atty.

3. I replace the white stuffing of my various carts with blue foam. But I only used carts for a while then started using cartomizers instead.

Odd - the 901 whistle tips I had (which I thought were the same as 510's) has a semicircular juice cup. And I thought the 510 round-tips had a more rectangular juice cup. Maybe 510 whistle tips are different.

If you have rectangular jucie cups buy blue foam. Buy the precut clue foam stuffing for 510 cheap at strictlyejuice.com

I always switch my carts to blue foam for consistent stuffing that holds its shape, is easy to remove, wash, pat dry, replace.

A tip I found and seems to work well is take out the stuffing before filling the cart. Fill it up about 3/4th's of the way with your juice then take a pair of tweezers and stuff back in the stuffing (slowly so you don't push out the juice). It works great for my husband, i drip for now. After about 10-20 puffs flick the side of the cart while holding it upside down to make the juice flow to the top of the stuffing so it continues to make contact with the bridge and wick. And always tilt your ecig downward slightly while taking a drag, holding it straight or tilting it up can affect how much juice is reaching the bridge/wick.

Round tips are better then whistle tips in my opinion due to the fact that if you have a manual battery you dont have to fliddle with the cart to get the tip straight for a comfortable lip seal. As for which can hold more I am not sure, I have both types but they are identical internally so if your carts seem different go with the one you feel has more space.

I've completely given up on cartridges; now I'm a strictly carto/dripper kinda guy. Back when I used cartridges, tho, I started doing a simple mod that worked fairly well.

Remove the filler completely. Cut it in half (or even thirds). Fill the cart almost full, then replace your half- or third-piece of filler material; it's now more of a "plug" than a "wick". Push it in so it sits right at the opening of the cart, so it looks just like a full one that has the whole filler intact. When you put the cart on the atty, the bridge will make contact and push the filler to it's optimal stopping point. As long as you usually keep the PV more or less atty down & cart up, the juice will flow to the bridge really well, though you will absolutely need paperclips/tweezers/etc. to refill your carts. Think of it as the inspiration for the early "tank" systems. I've seen posts about a "wedge mod", where the filler is replaced with blue foam cut in a wedge shape, with the wide part at the opening of the cart and the point of the wedge going back into the juice reservoir. I switched to cartos before I tried that, though.
