some people buy cars but have other people work on them.... and they do that cuz they either dont want to work on their own car or just dont know how...

Oh I get why they do it, and if they want to do that fine, it's their vape, but an rba is nowhere near as complex as a car, and still they don't care to learn how to rebuild it themselves? I can re-wick and re-coil mine in about 3 minutes, and I know what I have. It's a snap. On the other hand I'm not about to change out the camshaft in my car's engine, that's quite beyond my ability. Big difference I think.

I'm just surprised that anyone would pay someone else to do it for them.

Just sayin....

I would not pay 5 dollars for someone else to build. Also he made you sign a waver if you got hurt by his build, it's not his responsibility. ... I would be very cautious of anot her persons build. Especially since you signed a waiver taking all responsibility if something goes wrong. ...

That's not how this works. If you sell someone "X" and have them sign a waiver it does not get you off this hook if that "X" thing you sold is illegal, dangerous, defective, and if by your own oversight you didn't include "don't do that" in the waiver as well for some things really really obvious that you should not do with that "X" you think you just wrote off all your responsibility for.

Any torte lawyer worth his degree could shoot holes through most waivers in 5 seconds. Ask the former owner of PureSmoker what the legal definition of "failure to warn" is. Oh yeah - you can't. He was put out of business by at least one, if not two, exploding mod incidents and can't talk about the case as a result of the settlement. Someone did something really, really obvious to at least one mod he sold that blew body parts off. Not including instructions - at all - with something you sell is a really, really bad idea.

My local shop has you sign before they sell mechanical mods or rebuildables. If you buy a rebuildable there they will do the first build for you, at a resistance they feel safe with, nothing below .6. They will also be happy to look at a build you made, they looked at my first attempt, laughed a little, and said it would not blow my face off at .9 ohms.

The waver is a CYA for insurance and it does point out some of the potential problems building. You only have to sign it once.

I also don't think it would hold up in court.

In defense of people paying for rebuilds, I can see that. I know people who could get frustrated with fiddling around with it. Not so much wrapping a coil around a screwdriver but the actual getting them into their units. Especially if they are clones, they can be a real pita to get coils into.

Don't be so quick to judge or question people for not doing what you do or thinking like you do. That isn't productive.
