Ohhh not fair! Thats sounds delicious! Who is AEL?

AEL == AmericanEliquidStore

I really would've been happy to send you buttons Vm! Believe me, there are Plenty here just in case. The price tag isn't bad at all! If you find a handful of them aren't functioning accordingly, please let me or Us! know! lol. You got friends, ya know!
Ventilation is desperately needed. Every time it crosses the list, I think of you lol.

If it helps, When you go to install the new switch, After you adjust the prongs to the appropriate places. Place the button to fit it into the button sector. Press the backing with enough force to ensure that the button is resting in the unit as it would if it were completed. Then measure how much to sand off. Remove the button from the sector, then sand away in small increments.

I just couldn't ask you for a dozen of them :)

I don't expect I'll have to do any sanding, at least that's the hope. The new switches are 0.3mm longer (3.8mm stem) than the short replacement switches you've been using (3.5mm stem). WWay said she ordered the 8mm total length switches (4.5mm stem), but I ordered the ones that are 7.3mm in total length from the same EBay guy. I'll let you know how it works out.

Crossing my fingers the switch body isn't 0.3mm bigger instead of the stem like I'm hoping. Also crossing my fingers the tact switch is the source of the voltage drop in my lizard. I've tried noalox'ing and wiping down all of the threaded connections and such to no avail... I think I've narrowed it down to the little tact switch... at least that's the most likely suspect I can think of.

Food for thought: On the new Lizard, I'm looking for a mechanical switch to be created that has the same recessed feel and movement thats on the present Chameleon.

Fun mechanical design I'm sure, arranging sliding metal parts in there like a functional puzzle. Fun dreaming up designs involving magnets to provide the mechanical push back instead of springs or spring board'ish pieces of metal. Sounds like a good job for Leonardo da Vinci :)

VM have you tried turning the switch section of the Chameleon the other direction? In other words, take it off, turn it over and put it back on the other way? Mine use to work in both directions, but for some reason, now it works better in one direction than the other. Actually it is now right side up, but I always had it upside down until recently.

I have not tried that, but I'll experiment with that. If it resolves the problem, that would exonerate the tact switch... good trouble shooting technique ;)

Let us know if it works. I read it on one of the other threads is where I got the idea. After hubby put in the shorter switch I thought I wasn't getting the button pushed all the way in all the time because sometimes it would hit like the battery needed changed. Then it started doing it more and it wasn't the battery or me pushing the button wrong so I flipped the section over and haven't had a problem since. Any way thought it might be worth a try :)

Definitely worth a try and thanx for the suggestion. I just tried reversing it to no avail... it hits like the battery is in need of a charge regardless of which way (hey there) the switching section is oriented and regardless of how hard I mash down on the tact switch... so I'm back the the tact switch as the most likely culprit.

Where I was getting at is the GGTS with all the bells and whistles has become a .... ugly two fisted device, it now looks cheap and has lost all its class IMHO.

LOL It is pretty mean, isn't it? Well, lets just hope the material isn't corrupted!
Wow, this is just getting better and better! Have I told you lately that I love you? lol. I can't wait to see this things.

So, when does the pre-order begin? (maybe we should start a new thread?)
Uh huh, I opened your email earlier today [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJnog_DqcqA]YouTube - Eddie Cochran - Have I told you lately that I love you

You know, I was always against pro-order's because of the methods and ethics behind it. It just never sat right with me. I seen people having to wait for 8+ weeks for a device. It's heart wrenching. I can understand why someone would do it though, but I just don't know Vman.

So here's a simple idea: 801 atty with adjustable airflow. If the collar and the atty were threaded, the collar could simply twist on and off like a bottle cap. Also, by untwisting the collar just a little bit you could adjust the airflow to a personally desired level.

Any thoughts?
This sir, is a Brilliant idea! Infact I have been trying to explain it to someone for the past hour! I had this reply window open from wayy earlier on in the day.

Haha Magnets, yes, phenomenon they are. I was thinking alot about them, a Huge advantage is no debris will form on the inside of the unit, making it completely maintenance free, but what would happen if certain elements become in contact with it? Thats a pretty big concern.

Check this out Mr Madness, maybe it can be a cartridge solution?

Hmm, how about the connections in the threading(s)? I just lived through one of the problems Switch was having with his extension sleeve, except mine was the short body. For the switch to feel like it's performing minimally could be a matter of a little gunk getting trapped somewhere. Did you try using a different body by chance?

Wow...that one's pretty serious. :D

Is that one called the SaturnV? Next up the CamelBack inspired design, or maybe even a BeerHat inspired design.

Yup... somewhere in the small print legalize there would need to be a warning about not using the ecig while getting an MRI... but if standing too close to the refrigerator door would also be ill advised... well... that would definitely be a deal breaker :)

Might be worth a shot? With 510/901/401 attys, the foam worked well enough for me that I stopped looking for better answers. If the same doesn't hold true for the 801 (but the foam is looking good so far), this zero filler mod might be worth a shot.

I haven't tried a different tube body, just have the one, but I have cleaned and noalox'd all of the threaded connections. I expect the switches to show up today, and hopefully I'll have a solution (i hope).

... and that was pretty much the consensus from all

Yuppers, but you know me, I have to try everything :)

So rumor has it that the Chameleon's 510 adapter sits high enough to allow the new Mega Ego Cartomizer to fit over the top without modification. Of course I ordered a couple to see what they are like. I'll take pictures of it on the Chameleon when I get them.

I wasn't exactly suggesting that you do or don't do a pre-order. Since I've never pre-ordered anything before, that was just my way of expressing how much I like what you're doing and believing that it will be perfect. :)

Yeaaaaa! That made my day! :toast: Do you think it could work?

VM let me see if I can find them, but I bought the ZFMs for both the 510/901 and the 801s when he had them. Never could get them to work right. I may have tossed them, not sure, but I'll look to see if I still have them.

I was actually considering giving those a try but I'm glad I saw this. Thanks.

LOl love that banana, it is a Great idea! I don't know if it can work, by I'll keep pestering the engineers to make it happen. Just brilliant!!

As for the pre-order, I'm sorry that was just me reasoning aloud lol. If it comes down to it and if we can't handle delivering it ourselves, among other products. We'll have to do it, but if I can save anyone from investing in something thats not there quite yet. You know, I'll try my best. :vapor:

Hey Isaac,

I understand and respect your thoughts on pre-orders as I'm sure everyone else here does.

Wrt 801 atties, I can't even imagine why they would question if it can be done. It just seems sooooo simple since they are obviously capable of putting threads in the metal.
Thank you my friend :)

I know, right! The trick is to try to explain it. The only option really is to speak with another manufacture, but then we'll run into (probably) heavy tooling fee's. but if we can get it across the original manufacture that i asked. Then it will probably be a free ride. How are you at drawing Vman?

hmm my maybe Mastiff can help us out here....:?:

I'm reasonably pleased with the foam filler in the 801. Exact same principles as all the other carts... just scaled up a bit. Definitely the answer for me.

I've trimmed the filler down a bit more now, wicking a little better and still no leaks... gentle thermometer shake or some taps on the side every now and then. I'll probably keep trimming until I have a leaky mess on my hands... then I'll know just where to stop.

Why don't we just send them a bottle of soda and ask them to untwist the cap and twist it back on. It seems like the exact same concept, right?
