Atomizers, builds, and Flavor

I've always been aware that different rda/RTA's and different builds can make substantial differences in flavor. I had this really show up w/a new DIY liquid I made. It's a peach cream. Not candy peach, but soft subtle natural peach. Using the same build I use in a Halady clone rda(BF), the flavor was really muted. I decided to do another build in the SXK Doggy. I used a 30 ga SS316 spaced coil at 2.75 mm i.d.(rayon) coming in at 1.09 ohms. I'm using it on an eVic VTC in TC mode. To my surprise, the flavor came to life almost exactly as I'd intended. It's hard to believe how much difference a different build or device can change things. The flavor is there. Subtle, but leaving you wanting more. A little like homemade peach ice cream.

Yes, you are finding out about the infinite variety and etc. with vaping. For example, the Siren V2 is disliked by many for flavor, but I find it shines best with strong, fruit oriented juices. Everything matters, sometimes as simple as finding the right wattage for a new build/tank etc.

I really thought the Ares was awful for flavor until I turned it up 3 watts and it took me a while to even try it, as I'm used to vaping things lower, but at 14 watts, for me, the Ares really shines when at 10 it was kind of "meh."

I find the biggest difference in build is volume of flavor rather than flavor change. My sense of taste is nothing to write home about though, so I suspect it may actually be subjective to a person and how their personal sense of taste works.

I've settled around 12W for more flavor after a wick has been in use for a while.

There's nothing like a new wick for flavor. I generally drop to 9W for a day on new wicking.

Even with rayon I like a new wick once every week or two. Cotton required wick changes every three days.

Yup. I've had more than one juice I thought was lousy in one tank that was terrific in another. One reason I'll try a juice on more than one tank before committing to a decision whether it's a keeper or not.

No doubt the same juice tastes different in different tanks, way more so then different builds on the same tank. Every rta i have gives a different profile to the same juice and it takes a while to figure out which one tastes better for each particular juice you may have. As for different builds in same tank, not so much for me. I either use 26 or 28g wire all at basically the same size coil . If using 26g, I do a 6 or 7 wrap approximately .7 ohms. If using 28g, I do the same number of wraps and the resistance is about 1.3 on average. I run both about 23 watts and both tastes about the same imo.
