Welcome , but either choices have their positive and negative sides . I use both atty's and carto tanks . The atty's work good for dripping at home , while the carto tanks work better away from home . You don't have to fuss with them much . THe Vivi-Nova tanks , which are more of a hybrid , atty/carto tank , are proving to be quite popular these days . They are fairly inexpensive , come with three replaceable heads , and are easily re-built . Both the atty's and carto's are real cheap , if you buy them in bulk . I have and use all of the above devices , with great success . So really cost wise , their about the same . I have both atty's and carto's that are several month old . If they start degrading in vapor and taste production , I clean them ( I use vodka ) and keep going . But then I also have a Vivi-Nova tank , that still using the original head , three months later . Rather the replacing it with the new one's , I just rebuilt the old one several times . Only takes a minute or two . Very easy . There are Youtube video's for how to do it . Good Luck
