Heya, since the prodigy and not crap made usb passthroughs are coming out why not give making an atomizer a whirl? I really cant stand buying 4-5 atomizers every 2-3 weeks. How about some USA quality stuff for us all? XD

Whether dripping or not, atomizers fail; and the fault may not be in the design of the atomizer itself.
I've only "burnt out" one atomizer and that was my error - I absentmindedly held down a manual switch far too long after vaping. The coil opened and that was it.
All other atomizer failures were not total, just reduction of vapor, probably caused by some components of juice coating the coil and reducing its effectiveness.
What we really need is either a reliable way to clean atomizers, or a juice formula that does not coat the coil in the first place.
It would be nice to have a more dependable atty. I never had one last for longer than 2 weeks...grrrr. I've read that so many people's attys have lasted much longer. I hope that a 901 or 801 lasts a bit longer than my 401's.
What about an atomizer that you can change just the coil for a fraction of the cost of the Atty?
Working on that for the last 4 months...... be patient.... we are getting close.....![]()
A recoilable atty! Sounds tricky to do but it would be a major improvement. Good luck!
the coil isn't the sour spot in the atomizer ... the actual solder joints and wiring are ...
...and give it a rest when it gets hot or tasting funny.
I have purchased several 801 attys from bestecig.com and they consistently work fine for a few days and then out of nowhere it appears that they stop wicking the cartridge and I get that horrible metallic taste. My original 5 attys died shortly after that- the coils do not even heat up.
I am hoping the replacements Beci sent me (for free!) will not die as well. So far, one out of the 5 replacements has turned to the metallic taste.
Any ideas as to the cause and/or solution for this?
I read in another forum that if you run the atomizer too dry, the wicking material can lose it's ability to wick the liquid. If you then continue to try to vape it, it can kill the atomizer. You might try to top off your carts more, at the first sign of any metallic or burnt taste or even before. If you still getting some heat from the atty, but no vapor, you can try the suggestion for a fix which was to soak it in cola over night, hoping the phosphoric acid? will bring back it's ability to wick. Then wash it out and drop a lot of liquid on the atty 15 drops or so, then let it stand for 6 hours or so, then blow it out and drip 5 or so drops more and see if it helps.
