Lets not turn it into an interrogation. That never solves anything. Bottom line is, she is doing something wrong, maybe change your vaping habits when using a PS atty, maybe you have to keep it wetter, dryer, whatever. I don't know, cause i literally abuse the sh%$ out of mine from PS, and have no problems. I have gone through maybe 6 in 3 months, which isn't too bad, and most of those were from just thinking it was getting old, and throwing it out, not even from it dying. I have maybe had 2 of them actually up and quit working.

To each his own.

Nite - Geez gimme a break. I reviewed the Prodigy on day three. By day 4, atomizer died. Tried another, same experience. Tried again, same thing... went thru 9 of them this way. In the meantime, went back to my "direct from China" atomizers and they last around a month. Don't get me wrong - I still love the Prodigy and my review of that product remains glowing.

I didn't go thru 18 atomizers in 2 days. I said they last 3-4 days then they die. Again, the ones I got from China last a month or more.

I hauled out one of my PS atomizers again day before yesterday (9 down, 9 to go) to give it a try again. Same story - by the next day it was dead, just like the others.

I would imagine PS gets these things in batches and I think the June 2009 batch was bad. Maybe you some good ones when you made your purchase. I did not.

Tell ya what. I still have 8 of these things remaining, unused. Wanna buy 'em from me? I'll give ya a good deal.

guys ... atomizers are GENUINE SAILEBAO PRODUCTS ....

I order from 2 places in China .... Both are Manufacturers ... NOT middle men.

I used to carry RN Products (Made by First Union) Back then (6-7 months ago) I had the same love/hate relationship I do with the SLB/DSE Products I carry now. Some people loved the RN atomizers, others hated them. I HATED with a passion, how the RN4072 vaped .... Never touched a Penstyle period until I started using an M201, shortly followed up by DSE801 atomizers from Sailebao. To this day ... I still don't like RN atomizers and prefer DSE801 atomizers over them. Sailebao is an excellent company to work with (more-so than first union) and I haven't lost $50,000 in product like I did with First Union ....

With that said ... Before Investing On a single Atomizer .... Shop around ... Try a DSE ... Try an RN ... Try a BE ... Try a Joye ... Find the atomizer that best suits you and your vaping style, whether that be dripping/carts/combination of the two, then invest.

I will continue to sell GENUINE DSE PARTS ... 801/901 (From Sailebao)... GENUINE 510 Parts (From Joye). If the DSE801 doesn't fit your vaping style and you are burning them out quicker than normal .... best bet is to find the atomizer you can successfully keep running the length of time you anticipate and believe an atomizer should run ...

And for the record ... When I used my Prodigy, day in and day out for roughly 4 months straight ... I went through 3 total atomizers ... The 3rd is still attached. These are the exact same atomizers I sell ....

That is all the help I can offer oddgirl ... If you were my next door neighbor, I would invite you over for a beer, and show you the ropes of an 801 atomizer, and how to keep her healthy for weeks .... So, consider it an invite ... If you ever wanna stop by or are in town ... Let me know ... Vapin party on me :)

Id have to agree with steve... I have owned the prodigy since it was released and have only had one atty go on me and it was because of twisting it too hard and breaking the connections myself. I have 5 atomizers and they all work perfectly and have had no decrease in vapor or performance in any of them.

Hey Louann ...

When I used 801's exclusively, it was really quite simple! This is what I did ...

1) Keep juice pumping through them.
2) Blow out excess liquid 2-3 times per day in to a papertowel and clean out the brass fitting of the atomizer. Refill with 4-5 drops = Good to go.

Otherwise, I did zero other maintenance ... No cleaning, no burn offs, nothing :)

I thought this post was dead and buried so dropped the issue. Since it's resurfaced, I'll just say this: I got a quantity of BE112's from Best E-Cig and some other 801 attys from EastMall and they're still going strong - haven't killed one yet. I'm not doing anything different with these. I've always kept 'em wet, blow 'em out if they get flooded or wimpy, wipe the contacts off every now and then, and I do NOT overtighten -- just turn until I get some resistance then stop. No atty problems at all and I'm a happy vaper once again. And that's the end of this story.

LMAO... this is how so many of the threads go / get after two or three pages.
I thought it was like 146 attys in 2 hours...

I wanted to try out all the different attys when I first started vaping.
My first kit was a 510 but after i got my first Prodigy I got a few 801's and 901's . Never had anything but trouble and inconsistent performance out of them.
The first 801's I got from Janty when I threw away $100+ dollars on the stick. "That lasted about a week" Unit flooded and shorted out the board. Done.
I got some 901's from TW and the silicone around the center post is either missing or pops out at the smallest amount of pressure. "Shorted out a couple of switches and I was done".
I think the main thing is that some people like different attys, pv's, etc..
It all kinda depends on what you get use to. For me it's the 510's.

Still want to try some carts when I can get some empties and a true adapter for my Prod or Protege...

Wow!! 146 in 2 hours...

Sometimes I don't word things very well, especially when I'm PO'd while I'm typing. And now two months have passed and we're on page 4 of this thread. Here's what I tried to say way back when:

Last June, I got 18 silver atty's from PS to go with the Prodigy. Every one that I tried to use (the first 9 of the 18) died quickly (after 1-3 days EACH). By the time I figured something wasn't quite right, the 7-day return period had passed and I was told they wouldn't be accepted as returns. I was convinced PS had gotten a bad batch. I got more from China (the BE112s and some from EastMall) and they're holding up great. Haven't killed one yet.

NOT 18 in one day, NOT 146 in two hours (LMAO)... it was 9 over about 2 or 3 weeks.

All 18 are now outta my house and I'm ready to forget the whole mess.

I have a number of BE112s. The first one I used lasted 3 months. I'm 8 weeks into the second. You can't go wrong there.

As a new comer to E-CIGs ( well not that new as i am 3 months in ) one thing i have learned and i am not sure if many people do this.

If you order a good sized order of attys or even more then 1 for that matter, TEST THEM!

I ordered 8 ( 801s) once from PS, i normally get them, put them in my storage case and dont use them until one goes out. Well come to find out, 4 of them were dead DOA, i never used them, never dripped, nothing and i tried everything to get them going. No luck and since it was pass the however many days PS will warranty them, i got shot down by them telling me sorry, nothing we can do....Live and learn i guess right?

TEST ALL YOUR ATTYS!!!! BOTTOM LINE!!!!
