Received mine today, screws came out fine.
Using a protank 2 on it at the moment at 1.2 ohms, 10w. I tried taking it to 20w, burnt taste.
It does have a blemish around the fire button, I will have to live with it.
This is the silver I received from wetvapes. I think it's poor quality control. Looks like when they went to drill the hole for the fire button, something slipped. I guess wetvapes do not inspect the units first. I thought I could live with it. But I'm going to sell it on ebay, maybe I can get what I paid for it.
They put them in there because vapers instructed them to years ago not because they care about safety or had a moment of divine inspiration. Most everything that can be purchased readily now was just something some vaper dude or dudette made in his garage a while back. Just sayingmfgs put vent holes in these things

@mike From what I have seen in several pictures so far, that oopsie is not exactly rare.
+1 for some polish and a mini buffer if ya gotta.. just don't smash up the button. I think it looks sorta cool
I love vapers and want things to continue getting better and easier so more smokers can get over from the dark side. Vaping an ego with a carto is one thing. But too may people doing other dangerous things not having a clue they are dangerous, just because some dumb .... showed them in a vid and gave no warning. I am no hardened vet, just concerned guy.
My red one from Eciggity will be here Monday!!! Can't freaking wait!!!
Let me know if you hear from them. I sent them an email on tuesday afternoon about refunding my money since i cancelled the pre-order. I never got an email back from them but my order status changed to "refunded" on their site. HOWEVER, I've yet to receive the money back into my bank account. Sent an email at 8 am this morning, nothing yet.
Having read back a few pages I think some people are a little too worried about battery safety.
Battery safety was a HUGE issue a few years ago before IMR Safe Chemistry batteries came along. Those batteries would explode, catch fire, do all sorts of nasty things.
But this is 2014.
Safe Chemistry IMR batteries DO NOT explode or catch fire. (Counterfeit AW batteries not included) Even if deliberately shorted all they do is heat up to around 250-270 degrees and vent gases. You'll know something is wrong when smoke starts coming from your mech mod and it starts getting really hot, but it's NOT going to blow up in your face or hand no matter how you abuse it.
And that's in a mech mod, which the DNA30 and clones are not.
DNA and the new clones are regulated mods, not mech mods. If you try to exceed the designed specifications they SHOULD prevent you from firing. There seems to be some question as to how well this safety feature works on the DNA30 clones, but it shouldn't allow you to fire it if the ohms, wattages, or amp draw is outside of the preset limitations programmed into the chip. When working correctly a regulated mod removes almost all battery safety concerns. (Just make sure you put the battery in the right direction)
