Wow, 5 & 6 cell lip's in cars. You must have been running 1/8 scale. I've seen plenty of melt downs racing 1/8 scale yet none of them have exploded. Fires yes, but no explosions. I have a few rc airplanes that use 5 cell lipos. The batteries never scared me mainly because I've been into rc cars and airplanes for the last 25 years and have a great deal of experience and knowledge when dealing with batteries. I believe lipo's get a bad rap because of lack of the users knowledge and experience. Once again, this is just my opinion.

Team losi LST2, Truggy, and Buggy. All were 1/8 scale. I dabbled in the 1/5 then ended up selling everything. Haven't done it in about 5 years now.

They all had to be custom converted with parts I built as brushless was not really popular yet. They originally were all nitro. Was using boat ecs until the mamba monster max came out.

Talk about power though. The LST2 could be doing about 35-40 mph and if I went full throttle from a cruise at that speed it would literally wrinkle the rear tires and pull the fronts off the ground. I used to destroy all my friends running nitro trucks. But having multiple batteries got very expensive.

Anyways back on topic, I'm loving this cana mod. Running the igo w4 at 21-25 watts with a single 1.5 ohm ten wrap 28g coil and its amazing.

Ive had a 2-3 shorts from kayfuns positive post loosening up and touching the negative post... All it does is snap my wire right away. I use AW and purple efests 18500/490 when using mechanicals.

Ive also seen batteries vent, 2 to be exact. First was an MNKE that vented... My buddy took it out and it did nothing afterwards. Second was an efest 2000mah, the 10 amp. After the batt tube got hot, buddy took it out, threw it on the floor and it caved in. No explosion whatsoever.. Both were using drippers.

Being educated about battery safety is a good thing.... stuff can happend...... we are not worried but only saying that we need to be aware....and I'm glad more peeps are moving to regulated mods....mech mods have no built in safety features except maybe a vent hole....

Mech mods have always been a niche market and the people who get into it are generally the type that is motivated to learn very quickly.

However...........

This thread is about the Hana Modz DNA30 clone devices which are all regulated mods, not mech mods. Your battery safety worries are mostly irrelevant in the context of this thread. Part of the reason you would want a DNA clone is to add safety features.

Like I said, Counterfeit AW batteries not included.

This exactly the kind of mentality that is going to get someone hurt.!!!!!!! You do realize you may have just given someone the idea that ALL batteries/devices are safe. Think before you speak

I specifically described both mech mods and regulated mods. Perhaps you should read before you speak, or at least try to understand what you've read.

Leaving here is for the best. You're obviously not capable of handling a mature discussion on the subject.

Yep this threads is about the clone...but many topics have been discussed here.... I stand by my statements that battery safety is important to be aware of....I respectfully disagree with you assumptions and will not give "anybody a false sense of security about battery safety". I will continue to post a link to Battery University as I have for years....for anybody that want to go there....

Battery safety can never be a bad thing. I think it is always good to have a healthy fear of something that could possibly become dangerous and even if it is only to say you should have authentic batts. Or this can happen I think it is only for the best. Not to cause a mass hysteria but when a regulated mod dumps what's in the battery and the batt is overworked you never know what may happen and these things are inches from our face. I know this is not the thread for this but I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong. VAPE - SAFE

IMR batteries can still "explode"... They are less likely to do so, but can non the less. No battery is a safe battery, only" safer"... Retird had a point in bringing this up, most batteries are failing due to improperly charging. And should NEVER charge unattended. To say battery safety is irrelevant is concerning, not everyone will experience a battery failure, so the whole "never happened to me" thing is moot. Under the right conditions very bad things can happen, I'd hope all vapers new and experienced practice good safety habits dealing with batteries....

@retird and Curly , THX. Not enough people read the Batt and Charger thread so whenever we can slip some safety in somewhere else it seems wise. Again Thx for the input. Somebody is gonna get something from it and pass it on ✌️

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but
umejuvyv.jpg

Key words with IMRs are excessive internal pressure, what happens if say A battery cannot vent properly? Excessive internal pressure....

Some say Hana modz on power up on the LED screen not sure how many my clone doesn't but his did

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2

His was a test unit that is not the same as the production units. The production units have no trace of Hana on them whatsoever.
