I got my "Mini Mongoose" from KidneyPuncher.com in no time at all. I just jumped right in at two week of vape experience and quickly burned through the bit of wire that was included, as well as the first chunk of mesh. Good thing Nashvillevapor.com's B&M store is just down the road, because I've been trying all the YouTube methods with varying success. But with anything a person does, the more you do it the better you get. Now at two months, this and a ViviNova with some alt juice is all that goes with me when I leave the house.

I dove headfirst into RBA's last week with an AGA-T2 and an A7 RDA from empiremods. I wanted to play with silica first, because I had a bunch of it on hand, and threw a horizontal "U wick" on the AGA-T2 made out of 2mm silica and a 4/3 wrap of 34 gauge kanthal A1. Gave me a rock steady resistance of 2.1, vaped like a beast, but the wick couldn't keep up after the first couple of really good blasts on it. I'll probably try a 3mm silica in it after my 30 and 32 gauge wire shows up. Tore the 2mm out of it and whipped up my first SS wick with the included stuff. Immediately blew the coil I made. Went back to the drawing board with the 34 gauge stuff i have. Tinkered with it for HOURS yesterday but finally got a solid cooking 2.0 ohm SS coil to work. I rolled the SS wick solid and am now thinking maybe a "straw" type would wick better. I get good vape from it but it still feels very airy and light unless I do several good primer puffs on it. ~shrug~

On the other hand the A7 is a beauty! I disassembled the whole thing, gave it a thorough vodka bath followed by a soapy water + clean water rinse, dried it thoroughly and gave the factory wick a shot. It's not perfect, by any means... too airy at first so I broke the tip off a round toothpick in one of the holes. That helped but now it whistles like one of my old stardust clearos... maybe worse! The center post is relatively loose and I have to basically adjust it each time before I screw it back on a battery. BUT after I tossed the OEM wick I quickly twisted up a 4/3 of that same 34 gauge kanthal around some 2mm silica and had the thing fired up in less than 10 minutes, from start to finish. As tiny as it is I can't imagine an easier device to make a perfect wick for. A rock solid 1.6 ohms! HOLY SMOKES BATMAN! This thing ROCKS! So far I can get maybe 6-8 drops of juice in it but the vapor it produces is fantastic! I want to tinker more with my AGA-T2 but so far this A7 gets way more of my attention... I simply love it. I see three or four more of these in my future, when I find them on sale somewhere. Easy to swap out juice that way.

I find that straw wick will do a lot of bad things: spits juice, washbacks, wicks badly etc. the physics justifies it too. Solid wicks always work better.

NeilSwift: thickness of wires doesnt affect hot spot. The way you wrap it, does.

Thanks for the feedback! I see you too are running an AGA-T+. Have you modded yours at all to get "serious vaping" out of it? I know some talk about widening the air hole but I figured I'd try to live with mine for awhile, and get some feedback from more experienced users before I break out the metal working tools...

I widened the air hole to 1.5mm. I dont have any working tools like drill, so i just drive the sharp edge of a screw driver into it and smoth it out with a tiny roll of sand paper until i like the size.

I think the most important thing in an RBA is your wick, and right after that, your ability to wrap a coil. I use 500 mesh, rolled super tight (tiny if any center hole), unoxidized, and 4/5 wraps of 30awg kanthal. If you wrap it just right, hot spots will not appear even on an unoxidized wick.

how high of an Ohm level should i run? im running 4/3 wraps of 30g kanthal and i see other people running 6/5 wraps with 32g. i also have a double wick set up. i only have 1 air hole though bored out to 9/16 and it get the same amount of vape as i would a single wick... should i bore out another hole? or should is there a trick to this? i also tried a U wick with no sucess and im ...... lol i cut the mesh exactly as instructed in multiple videos, oxidized the wick and mesh and it is still giving me a dry vape even with super tilt. whenever i super tilt, it just seems to pour out of the wick hole and wastes. please help!

I have an RSST and the AGA-T2. The build is definitely easier on the RSST but the taste is muted for some reason. This might be just my build but it has been happening pretty consistantly. The AGA-T2 is easy to clean because it is so easy to disassemble. I did try to wash out the RSST but I cant find any way into the tank. The center post comes out but that is as far into the tank I could get. Does anyone know if the assembly comes apart on the RSST?

I've seen several videos with the RSST completely disassembled. Planning on buying one soon since it looks really nice on a flat top natural.

is it the more wraps the higher the ohm? or the lower?
this is what i mean by higher and lower (1.5 to 2 and lower is .5 to 1.0)
how many wraps did you do?

I am running 4/3 wraps with the thicker wire to get the lower resistance, if I were to push it up to a 5/4 I would be right at 1.9. On my aga's I have also widened the wick holes and am running 1/8th wicks in them.

I purchased and received an aga t2 last week from Clouds of Vapor. It came with a little packet of things and I have no idea what to do. There were no instructions and I have emailed COV asking where I could watch a video to get this working. I haven't heard back so I have come to you good people for a point in the right direction.

This is my first rebuildable. I have made a few searches on ECF looking for information but I'm getting lost. Can anyone give me a little clue?

i 2 am new to rba bought a aga t2...my first atempt was the petar k method.....no sucess....so stuck with the oxy on the tip only(near the coils. way more aproachable. otherwize great for a newbie

purchase pre rolled/oxidized ss mesh from litecigusa to get u started, then unroll theirs, see how it works (wicks great) then roll your own...and you are off to an amazing genesis experience
