Hey mods, when you lock a thread please ALWAYS state your reasons for doing so.
I was on 2 threads that got locked. When the first one was locked I got some pms from folks questioning the integrity of ECF as a whole.

When you lock a thread without saying why immediately you run the risk of making ECF look bad. A veteran might realize why the thread was locked but a newbie probably wouldn't.
Just a suggestion.

Note: Fixed your title for you. :)

We do have as standard practice to post why we're closing a thread if it's currently in use (if it's old and no longer active, probably not, but it's old). Sometimes we forget for one reason or another, so apologies for when that occurs. We do our best to explain things though, mostly in hopes that someone will learn something and not repeat mistakes in another thread which may require closing of that one, etc.

Thanks for the reminder though! :)
