There is a lot of "white noise" about Protanks.
Before I took the leap into vaping with an Inferno and two cartotanks, I did a lot of lurking and reading up on which/why/how, etc on here and other vaping forums.
On ECF I soon learnt to sort the wheat from the chaff and picked up on three/four regular posters advice.
Since I was already cognisant on setting the timer on the microwave! and had even mastered re-configuring the satellite remote control for a new TV, I figured I was ready to advance.
Ordered a Provari which arrived on 8Aug with a Protank1 and yesterday I changed out the head for the first time due to a tailing off in flavour together with an increase in ohms to 3.3.
When I had been using the PT1 for a week I thought, yes, this is pretty good and sent off to FT for 5x PT2 which arrived 22Aug and changed out one of those heads for the first time yesterday and that was on the tank that was using a liquorice/menthol mix, a daily vape. I had replaced the gunked-up flavour wicks a couple of times when I dry-burned the coil/wick. None of the six has leaked, gurgled more than once or given dry-hits/burned flavour. When I dry-burn the coil/wick I drip a couple of drops of juice on the coil wick and in the pan where the wick-ends stick out before re-assembling.
Soooo, does that make me Mr wonder-man ? I wish but...no, I'm with CRXESS on this and take care of them, keep all the bits in place, after all, I don't think Kanger would say, lets spend more than we need to and put some extra wicks in there - they are there for a reason.
As an ex-techie (is one ever an 'ex'-techie?) I don't over-tighten and damage the seals and don't screw it down hard on the Provari.
Just my 2(euro)cents !

When I ordered the 5x PT2's I did made sure to get the 'Authentic Kangertech Protank2' and for the 5pk of spare heads I paid 7dollars and change for 'genuine Kanger heads' and not 6dollars and change for 'the manufacturer assures us that these are made to original tolerances, etc'
