Hey everyone, I just found an alternative solution to the Protank:

Blu cartomizers.

It's the truth. Go buy a pack of Tobacco cartomizers (which taste like thin air anyway), stick a fork in the hole, pull, take the rubber gasket out, and fill! I didn't know it was that easy! Screw the Protank II. If you're not a rebuilder, the Blu cartos work way better than the Protank heads. I didn't wash mine out or anything, my juice tasted the same as in a Protank, even mixed with the tasteless juice Blu uses for tobacco. Want a menthol tinge? Buy a menthol pack? Is your juice a rubber eater? Remove the rubber gasket, it doesn't serve a purpose that I can see.

Sure they're $15 a pack, but you can buy em anywhere. And they work great. New juice even makes the bad ones taste great. I don't see why Blu doesn't distribute Johnson's Creek juice to stores and build their ends where you can simply pull off the ends instead of using a fork - a whole new market!

I knew I liked Blu for some reason...

You probably should have read these forums a bit more before making this thread :)

Everyone that posts here regularly knows about blu cartos. Most of the people who use pro tanks, use them BECAUSE we prefer them over cartomizers and other options.

If you like cartomizers, GREAT. I would, however, recommend you buy blank cartos, such as Boge or Smoktech, and fill them yourself with your juice of choice. MUCH cheaper.

Good luck :) Remember, what works for someone might not work for you. Find what works best for YOU.

Thought maybe this was a Blu Commercial:glare:

Some people never figure out how to tweak a Tank.............or set the time on a Microwave:laugh:

LOL. My mom is one of those people who NEVER sets the clock on any of her electronic devices. Seeing the flashing 12:00 when I go to her house used to drive me crazy.

I started vaping with V2s, and the first change I learned how to make was to "pop the top" off a prefilled carto and refill it. Simple, and cheaper than using up and discarding prefills. Then I tried V2's clearos. Simpler, quicker, and even cheaper than refilling prefilleds. Then I discovered eGo batteries. Longer life. EGo-threaded clearos. Greater capacity, so less time involved with refilling. Replaceable heads. Cheaper still than all the previous methods.

It's a progression many, if not most, of us go through. Curious, and kind of amusing, to see a vaper go in the opposite direction! :)

I firmly believe having a cigalike or two can be a wonderful addition to any vaper's utility belt. I have more mods than I care to admit, but I still carry a Volt with me everywhere I go.

In class I "chew" on it like a pen and stealth vape. Can't get away with that with my Provari or SVD. Also, my lady, she doesn't mind the mods at home, but when we're out and about and we want our private time, the Volts come with me. We've had a few dinners spoiled by people coming over to the table when I've brought a mod with me (always outside patio, never inside) and asking me a million questions. So to keep ourselves from unwanted attention, I use the Volts.

True story, I was eating dinner outside with my girlfriend and was using my Volt. A man interrupted our meal, forced his way into our conversation, and said, "I can't help but notice you're vaping. I vape too! But I have a better battery, it lasts longer, and I can crank up the power on this baby!" He showed me a Twist with a T3S on it and started explaining the features, how long it lasted, how it hit harder than those little stick thingies you get at gas stations, etc., etc. I didn't have the heart to tell him I work in a vape store. He was obviously excited, and I said, "Awesome, great, thanks for the info, man!" When he finally left, my girlfriend just looked at me and smiled.

I have absolutely no problems with the PT2. Works consistently and flavor is good.

I know many like them so it must be possible to get them working, it's just that the few people I know were either drinking juice or gurgling. That's why I never tried one I guess, plus I just like vivi's so I'll admit I'm not impartial. Maybe the people I know just aren't patient enough to tweak it or something.

At first I rocked a Blu, and didn't want anything bigger that a cigarette. Of course, I found this forum, and everything changed. Today, I am out and about with a full-size ProVari or even bigger, an iTaste134. When others give me dirty looks, I have a smart comment such as I like them big. And no one bugs me about it.

There are many styles of vaping and if Blu works, then do it. However, there are other options that are just as simple to use IMO.

I started with a Blu.
It was an impulse buy and I had no idea I was "vaping."
Nothing about it made me not want a cigarette so I jumped into Google looking for anything related to *quit smoking*

For beginners the general consensus was an eGo/CE4/EVOD.... (you all know the beginners stuff).
As a matter of fact, all my Googling led here to ECF.

So yea, whoever started with a Blu, in essence it did help. It opened the door to better options .

Blu... the gateway eCig to shiny toys!

I Really don't get the protank hate recently, Are they quirky Hell yea ,but it's not the tank , there are so many variables for something to happen. Anyone searching for an easy clean cut deal is out of luck. Every time you fill the liquid could even be a different thickness. Did you spill any, Did you clean everything and tighten correctly just too many variables and mine can drive me crazy somedays but it never truly fails me and at worst I throw away 2 mil's of juice and use another tank till I break it down and clean and change everything.

I guess I'm still a beginner. :D

Whatever keeps you from burning tobacco is a good vape. I'd bet there are far more people that use cig-a-likes from 7-11 etc... than the bigger gear you buy online.

I know quite a few people who use cig-a-likes but not because they want to quit smoking but because they look cool.

Then there's the ones who have no interest in anything else and are quite happy with what they've got.

I was happy with my eGo/CE4/EVOD setup. I'm happier with my ProVari. :D
