So I got my first cyclone and I'm going to start with a single coil. Those are ok to use on a cyclone right or does it have to be dual? And, is there a specific ohm to shoot for with this that might be a "sweet" spot? And, since this is different from the rm2, is there a specific coil placement that is ideal? Thanks!

I got excellent results with a cyclone non AFC with single coil anywhere from 1 to 1.6 ohms.

Here's some pix of different but similar builds:

I have the AFC cap for it too. I was actually just watching one of your videos on youtube lol. My other question is - I have the standard screws that come on the posts still on it that you use the allen wrench for. Is it normal that I tightened it so hard that the coil legs practically trimmed themselves? seriously one pinched off on it's own. I'm afraid that it might mean it's not all the way through the post now?

Did you get the AFC top cap or the standard top cap? You can only do a single coil with the standard top cap, unless you drill another air hole in it. The vape isn't a whole lot different from the RM2, or so I've read. I think the Cyclone just nudges it out for flavor, but again from what I've read, they are similar. I would start with the same coil you had in your RM2 and then tweak it from there to your next build. I like mine setup @ .9Ω for single coil. I have an AFC cap coming to me finally so I can give duals a try in it... Anxiously awaiting I might add...I will probably setup the dual coils in or around the same.

You might want to take the screws out and grind them flat on the bottom. Socket head set screws have a cup point on them and it can be very hazardous to kanthal...

Man you guys have been downplaying the cyclone or something. lol. I can't even see my computers screen through these clouds. Pretty awesome! I'll have to figure out the screw thing. Do the screws that go on the rm2 fit the cyclone? Is that all I need to replace them?

I got some from Russ and they were too small for the my Cyclone. I used some extra screws I had lying around from an Igo-L that I've had forever...

Is there a trick to turning the afc cap? Mine's so hard to turn to open/close. I think it might be stuck.

Some of them are harder to turn. Vape it warm and it should loosen a tad. Grab the top up near the DT while holding the middle and just twist. It will loosen over time.

I use several Cyclones with the AFC, single coil. I normally run a juice exclusively in a particular Reo. What I do is built the coil for the best flavor for that juice. Then I use the AFC to fine tune the vape. I have found that the AFC is very adaptable to different coil ohms. After some experimenting you will have it fine tuned for your taste too.

Figured I would share this here for anyone who wanted to see the AFC take apart:

I place a small plastic screwdriver on the inside of the top cap and grasp the AFC while pushing up on the handle to seperate the two sections. Not really nessecary unless you need to lube up the orings for eeasier AFC or are OCD about cleaning your RDAs... I think leaving a little residual e-liquid to help save the orings is a good thing in this case.
