What it will take to change outcomes like this is hard to stomach, this country has reached a point where people will have to risk all to regain the freedom and Constitutional Rights that are almost non-existant, it may be a global rebellion...:vapor: or we cave and frightenly it will get much worse. The health police aren't going to stop unless we stop them.

I doubt it makes the slightest bit of difference what we call it--it still "looks" like smoking to the City Council of Los Angeles. It was pointed out that were it later discovered that vaping is harmless, it still looks like smoking, and thus they'd ban it anyway. My words, here, but that was the essence of what I read in the LA Times.

That sounds like something else we're doing as a nation - not allowing Middle Eastern looking people on airplanes because of 9/11.

Oh, wait...

That's called profiling and is illegal...

So let me see if I understand. Vapers get less courtesy? And this profiling is legal?

It appears that legality is no issue--when there's an obstacle to one's goals, just redefine the meanings of all the words until the desired result is achieved. Can hardly wait to see this applied to issues bigger than vaping.

So they want to nail us for $250 a pop for vaping in an outdoor park. I am so thankful that I didn't become a police officer--today, it's like being a uniformed nanny. Just embarrassing, at best.

Its going to be a hard law to inforce, I don't see them writing tickets for smoking cigarettes.
Sadly the opinion represents most of the mindless majority. People has lost the capacity or desire to think freely.
Most people love the fact that the govt and powers that be think for them.
Just sit back and wait til someone elses ox starts to get gored.
Like the idiotic laws being passed.
You know when local vape shops don't stand a represent then I don't feel so bad not supporting local b&m's
fwiw.

U know what would serve these .... wipes?
If we all took up dipping snuff, spitting tobacco on the ground. Then in front of
God and everybody take that big wad of tobacco out of your mouth and just fling it when you are done. Lol
Accept it, that we all live in a society of mindless dolts, and it's not just Ca.
Its the whole country, period.

You're right, in general cops will probably only issue a citation when someone complains, which will happen more often with a ban in place ...

But I have seen armed transit cops writing tickets for smoking at the train station in Oceanside. They hide behind the vending machines when a bus pulls in from LA, then ambush anyone who lights up during the layover. Its a sure thing to get a few from every bus, at $250 a pop ... :glare:

AB1500 is the one to really watch for
I think SB-648 will gain traction based on the news from Los Angeles, since that bill addresses very similar issues. Furthermore, 648 was already heard and amended a few times since its original introduction (3/25/13). Also, SB-648 its a senate bill. On the other hand, AB-1500, an assembly bill, is dormant as of right now.

I've seen people getting ticketed for smoking in Glendale and Pasadena. Almost got one myself in downtown Burbank. I also know a guy that went to court in Glendale after getting three tickets for smoking. He lost in court, but the judge reduced the fine by some.

I've vaped outside in Burbank, because I don't think they've amended their laws to include vaping yet (though I am sure that's coming too...)
