Ugh! It happened last night, the death of my first atty. I'm very saddened by the loss. I read the warnings, I knew it was going to happen and I am prepared; I have 7 other attys to turn to. The issue is that it provoked the same kind of anxiety I would have when I was down to my last analog and it was snowing out so hard that it was taking my life in my hands to venture out (but I did, as we all can relate to).

I bought the eGo on special from Liberty Flights and it should arrive within a couple days, I have 3 510 batteries, 2 passthroughs, and enough juice to last me realistically for at least 3 months so I should have enough equipment to last me for months even if some parts stop working.

My question is if others experience the extreme anxiety of having some unforeseen disaster strike and you can't vape for at least a week until you get your replacements? With analogs it was just a simple trip to the gas station, irregardless of blizzards.

I get the same way. The only way I can cope is by ordering a replacement whenever anything seems like it's going to stop working. Being all the way out here in OZ doesn't help either. I just try to have at least 5 batteries and 5 attys, one of each I keep out of use. Maybe we will calm down about it, or maybe we will have to resort to bulk ordering :p

I usually keep enough stuff on hand that I don't have to worry. I have enough good juice to last me a few weeks, if I had to I could use the juice i dont like and go a couple months, plus now I have some DIY stuff, I have about 35 carto's for my ego's, 2 mega atty's, and some carts. If I managed to blow up both my ego's I still have 2 510 batteries and a half dozen 4081's and 20 or carto's for that. Power outage I could always charge batteries in my truck. I think I'm good to go for anything short of nuclear war :)

I hear ya. I was really bad about going out for the night or weekend. I didn't want to be without and break down and buy a pack. One time my friend dropped my 5volt box mod and broke it. I was drinking and playing the guitar at a party were I planned to spend the night. It was panic mode for sure. Luckily one of my friends lent me an extra 510 for the night. I won't go out without backups again though.

How long did it last? Did you try dry burning it for 15-20 seconds to see if that revived it? I am wondering myself how often I am going to burn up attys. I guess the juice has a lot to do with it, as probably does the brand since there are like 4-5 manufacturers making 510 attys.

It just quit, no warning whatsoever. I soaked it is rubbing alcohol, blew it out, ran hot water through. There was no reviving it. I think I'm just going to start hoarding them, just in case I ever decide to start fiddling around with the parts.

Hm, that is weird, I was using Wyatt Earp when it died.

I have enough juice for probably 7-8 months.(roughly 600ml) I have 3 900mah eGo batteries, 14 eGo XL cartos, 4 eGo Mega-attys, 15 empty mega cartridges, 3 510 attys, 10 empty 510 carts, 4 regular 510 batteries, a 5v PT, and a pack of 5 ceramic (no filler) 510 cartos on their way to me. Oh and I almost forgot 2 delrin drip tips. So ya like the poster above I'm probably good for anything short of nuclear war too. :)

Gear will fail occasionally, and I never want to run out of juice, so I watch for sales at my favorite suppliers and stock up whenever I can get a good price on what I need. At present I have about 40 spare attys, several batteries, and about 800 to 1200ml of my favorite juices, plus a DIY setup that could keep me going for about 6 months.

O.K., When I read about having a car charger, and not having one myself, yes I panicked. Ordering one NOW, along with about 600ml of juice, attys, cartos etc...Ha, gee thanks.:p

Wow banjo, you are really one prepared dude. 40 attys. Have you had a lot of atty failures in the past and if so what brand and type where they?

Believe it or not, I haven't had a single atty fail since I began vaping some 4 months ago. I've been buying spare attys from Eastmall & GreenHouse One (both in China) when they have them on sale at $3.00 ea. in packs of 5. Since the shipping charges from China are about $15.00, I usually buy the attys 20 at a time to spread the shipping cost around, and I end up paying between $3.25 to $3.75 per atty with shipping - still a great deal, and the attys are of excellent quality.

I just use a universal adaptor for in the car, cig lighter plug in with usb port that way i can use it with all my different chargers, even my cell. They're like $2.50 at monoprice.

ETA also nice cause I can use a pass through while driving :)

So all of this spare stuff and abundance of different juice flavors I've been buying is just an instinctual hoarding mechanism designed to protect me from an impending apocalypse? LOL!

Yup and if you keep it all in a back pack ready to throw on your back in a moments notice and a shotgun with lots of slugs you'll even be ready for the Zombie Apocalypse.

Good grief! I never thought about a power outage and now I have to get a car charger thing too! And a spare battery charger in case my only one dies!

Ur atty popped. RIP atty. :)

P.S.

Yes. Having no atties... that's anxiety. Same as no nic juice. Everything else can be "fashioned" out of parts. Power supplies, mouthpieces, whatever. Atties are hard to build (it's possible tho... see modders forum if interested). Nic juice... I don't know how I could make it. So yes. I don't know about extreme anxiety, but anxiety... yes. So we take precautions. Sad really, but much better than smoking!

They are making a Horror Movie due out next Halloween:

It's about a vaper stuck in a hurricane and his last atty failed. He couldn't go outside to get replacement parts or contact his vaper friends. He started modifying a toaster, only to find the power failing next...

Once he got the toaster modified, and the generator running, some zombies tries to steal his juice... the zombies don't stand a chance.
