Hi all. I have 3 debridged 510 attys. 2 of them burn way too hot. I've cleaned them, blew out excess juices, dry burned them and even primed them before I start to vape and they still get hot very quickly. I did a series of different drops priming. The throat hit is still waaaay too harsh. At times I even accidentally flood it and it still burns too hot.

I know you got to keep the atty wet and all. Do I have a defective atty or something? I'm getting frustrated to the point I want to rip off my hair and beard

It's a basic joye 510 manual battery and atty. I wouldn't know how much voltage it is.

Do you have a multimeter? I would check the ohms on the atty. There is a possibilty that when you debridged and dewicked you could have pinched the coil together effectively lowering the resistance. A standard Joye atty should ohm out around 2.6 ohms.

Agree with the above. Sometimes when an atty is FTD (fixing to die) the resistance will drop and it will burn hotter than normal. Did-ja ever bump an incandescent bulb and see it glow brighter than normal? It burns for a minute or so until the filament gets too hot and opens. Same thing with an atty... Enjoy your pseudo LR atty while you can. =)

True Joye attys measure 2.2 ohms on average in my experience, btw. (Fluke 110 and/or Fluke 87 meters)

Nevermind it's starting to do it with the blueberry flavor also. Where could I get a multimeter?

Harbor Freight for a imexpensive one, Radio sahck for middle of the road or buy a Fluke for top end. If you can wait RTD vapor has a good MM for a reasonable price:

I just cracked open a new 510 atty, and have this problem. It's not the juice -- I'm using the same juice I've been using daily for a year or so. It's just the atty. It burns VERY hot, the vapor tastes bland and unsatisfying, although the vapor production is close to normal.

I find that about 1/3 of the new attys I try are "bad". Not bad as in nonfunctional, but bad as in they run too hot, or they have a bad taste that won't go away, or they burn too cool, or some other issue. The good ones, though, are very good and last a long time. I've just accepted that I'll need to toss 1/3 of the attys I buy.

I've been using cartomizers more and more lately. The convenience is so much greater (top off less often, it's easier to top them off, and they are much less messy)! Some juices don't work very well in cartos, so I use atty/carts for them, but when I'm out and about it's cartos only nowadays -- I vape the not-good-in-a-carto juices at home.
