atty cleaning overkill...ok someone had to say it

i drip 4-5 drops in my new attys at first use....take a hit or two...if it still tastes off i add more and vape til it kicks in...

Sorry but this, in the midst of all this debate on cleaning, made me laugh my ... off.

I cleaned my ego-t atty with isopropyl alcohol and had a very bad experience.
first i let it sit in the alcohol for 10 minutes, blew excess out and let it dry.
did nothing and had horrible taste.

Tried again and left it in for 2 hours.
paint came off completely (looks nice, in stainless finish though).
let it dry for 2 days.
horrible taste was still present.

I tried a 50% vinegar mix and 50% water for about 1/2 hour.
washed it with water, blew excess out, and wicked manually.
works a charm, and almost no funny taste.

I can't taste any vinegar, but i can still feel a faint alcohol smell.
I'm never using alcohol again, it leaves a horribly taste that just doesnt go.

jeesh I'm aspi and clearly OC about cleaning my stuff and I have 2 steps and if u look at my pics here as U can see a buncha steps to clean atties is unnessary now granted I use cartomizers but still. 1 pga syringe drip into carto 3 round. 2 (and yea I know this is overboard and most people dont have a compressor. airgun at 15 psi thru carto till no mist comes out. CLEAN SPOTTLESS!!!!! srry dont have any good cartos dissected right now these are 2 I killed on my new 4.8/7.2vv mod (gonna wait for new Hi res cartos to use 7.2 anymore...EWWWWWWWWWW Toasty..lol but anyway they were cleaned the day b4 and were working fine till I boosted power. but look the one on left was my oldest carto and it burned like mad but other than burn damage was clean the one on right I immediatly stopped when I heard POP!!!! 1 black mark but clean... My Atty that came w my firs E-cig is dead cuz I pulled it apart tryin to remove bridge but it was just as spotless and vaped great (yea my juice is a little dark but oh well.) there is a fine line between maintenance and neurosis

oh yea an if ur gonna use alcohol use something meant for human consumption otherwise u will b leaving trace elements behind that u really don't wanna vape or taste PGA or some other High grade stuff works great and doesn't taste horrible if ur impatient and cant wait for it to dry. and remember people these things are meant to be in contact with a fluid not overheating cuz they're dry when U fire em up.

Everyone has a home remedy, I just use white vinegar for 20 minutes, rinse with hot water, and blow out excess and drip with liquid and good to go. Have not lost any attys in months, for what it is worth.
