Atty Storage

I have read that it is best to store your attys moist, could someone explain the reasoning behind this? From what I can tell, storing dry would be better as you will not have juice eventually turning to goo in it. You would just have to remember to prime it before using?

However, Sun feels like they should be kept moist with PG whaich I think makes more sense.

I just stocked up on 15 attys - I'm assuming they'll be in sealed packaging as was the last order from this supplier. I'd like to try each to make sure they work -
and then figure out best way to store them to be used..... in the future.

I think they should be fine if you just tested them because there should be primer on them..

As far as I can tell, the primer is there so that when you use it the first time the juice in the cart gets drawn in via capillary action. If you store them dry, you would want to prime them yourself with juice for the same reason.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Some people say that you should keep them moist when storing them.
But I have not been able to figure out any logical reason to think that is true.

And I am starting to agree with the guy who says the primer is not primer at all.
He thinks it is oil from the machining process, and I'm buying that for now.

When I get new attys in I first check them with a Ohmmeter to see if they read between 2 and 5 ohms. If they do, I leave them wrapped in their original wrapper and put them away still factory primed. If the Ohms reading is higher than 5 Ohms I will send them back although I have yet to hit a bad one. When it gets time to take one out of storage, I blow out the factory primer, rinse it under hot water and let it dry. The atty is then primed with good e-juice.

I offered a slightly different twist on how I go about atty storage.

I'm pretty new so I can flood an atty. What I basically do with the three I rotate: When received I blow em out and smoke em off. While rotating I blow them out between uses, stand them dry on a paper towel to drain and drip em when I change em. They may not be used daily but so far the ones I do use are still vaping like champs. I'm also thinking maybe storing them with juice might gunk up.

Where did you read this? The factory has them already primed for storage. You just check them with a meter. If they're OK, just leave the primer undisturbed, and store them. Clean them right before use.
