Sorry if this has been asked before, please direct me to a thread if it has. I browsed for a while and couldn't find one.

I have a lot of flavours I want to test out by dripping, but I don't know which attys to use. I tried modding some 510s - pulling out the wick and all that stuff, but I kept getting a very burnt taste. The batteries i have are 510 compatible, and I understand that you can buy adaptors so I'm willing to try any attys I need an adaptor for, that won't be a problem.

btw the batteries I'm working with are EGO batteries and an E.V.O variable voltage setup.

What attys are actually designed to be dripped on? Which give the best flavour?

Thanks
Tryne.

How did you remove the wick plate? That is the flat metal piece that spans the ady correct? I though i'd break the whole thing trying to remove it.

I use a stiff wire (small allen wrench) from the bottom. Give it a little pop and the plate comes right out. Then push the coil cup back down where it belongs. It's really tough to pry the plate out of a 510-T like you would an eGo-T atty.
    looks like this when finished

I've dripped for quite awhile, but I've never pulled a wick out of an atty I wanted to use.

I usually use I06's and HH357's, but never had the urge to pull wicks out even when I used Joye's. (All 510 threaded stuff in my collection.) I use the attys I use because they give me the best flavor I've found.

I found that dripping on the joy-e's burnt them out really quick, so I just looked around for how to fix it and found some videos on pulling the wicks out. Thanks for the suggestions!

I found a video on youtube called 'destroy and enjoy your 510 atty' and I just followed what he did.

Well, you're ahead of me. I never would have thought of going to youtube for such a thing. I've read posts from ECF'ers about such things and always wondered why their wicks, and the ability to wick juice into the coil, was a bad thing for them. They have no taste. They don't burn. It's not going to stop the juice from leaving debris on the coil from darker juices.

I just buy good quality attys that are specifically for dripping and call it a vape. Don't have hands sized for fine detail work even if I wanted to perform atty surgery.

    I totally get that!

Ripping them apart totally freaked me out. I only modded them because I had nothing else for dripping and they were just lying around cause I don't use the cartriges anymore. I normally vape with a DCT and obviously dripping on that is impossible.

I'd definitely rather get something that was made for dripping than rip apart stuff that isn't and hope it works!

That reads like a dry atty issue. Even the attys I suggested will not last long if run dry. Gotta' keep 'em wet.

I can pop a wet Joye atty at a week's use on average and was amazed if I could get 2 weeks out of one. The I06's and HH.357's usually last until I drop them and break them or clog the coils with my darker recipes which can take months.

I drip on 510 attys. LR's, SR, HV's. Never removed a wick or modded an atty in my life. Never found a good reason to. The few times I've gotten a burnt taste was my own fault in not paying attention and letting the atty get too dry. I've had a few attys that only lasted a month but most of my attys have lasted 5 months or more.

Where do you normally get your attys?
I'm in Canada so my purchases are kind of limited..a lot of places don't want to ship over the border.
But I definitely want to get some of those :)

Yea probably is my own fault, I'm pretty new to this, but what happened exactly was that I dripped on them for a while to test flavours and all was well, but then I popped a cart in one to vape for the day and it tasted horrible. Someone told me the particular attys I had weren't meant for dripping..which I found weird but I just went with it.

Thanks a bunch I'll check it out. Most of the suppliers I've found up here just carry the standart starter kits and some different types of cartos. Kind of a bummer.

I know that Switched is an Iken regular, so I assume that it shouldn't be an issue to get attys or cartos there. Might check out what Happy Vaper is carrying too as even I have ordered from Happy before and had it shipped to the states.

If you get an I06, don't forget to get a drip tip along with it as it is an odd sized atty and few things fit it.

I'm checking out happyvaper and Iken now. The i06's on Iken are all out of stock, but I'll keep checking back - I did notice the drip tips though :). Avid vaper also does ship to Canada I found (yes!)
