Hello everyone, so i purchased an "authentic" protank from fast tech. Tested it on my mini lava tube man it was awesome for the first hour; So im adjusting the voltage trying to find the sweet spot and at 3.4 volts i get a burnt taste. Im thinking ok well the atomizer is reading 2.4omhs whats going on. I take it off my lava tube and use it on my ego. The First thing that happened was there was no connection the light would turn on but no vapor on the draw. So i screw it down a lil tighter and now my ego won't even fire. I youtubed some typical ego problems took tweezers pulled up on the center pin again nothing. So i figure ok it must just be a dead battery used it for a few months no biggie. So today i pulled out my other ego battery and tried that one. This is where it gets strange. So i put the protank on my ego and as soon as i go to make a draw the battery won't fire and the light won't light. ... no way 2 batteries in 2 days?!? So i unscrew the protank press the button and the battery lights up.. Its insane. Idk whats happening. Even with the lava tube at 3.0 volts i get random burnt taste's. This thing is seriously 4 days old. I have yet to try another atomizer but does anyone have any clue whats going on. My other ego batt is a goner took it apart the solder was broken so i just tossed it. My conclusion is fast tech is getting authentic garbage. Anyways this is quite a dilemma for me.

You could be getting a short in your atomizer. The battery is designed to shut off when theres a short. Try another and see what happens. Sometimes in the protank heads some of the wires will hit the metal part and that will cause a short. If you want to look up recoiling a protank head on youtube and you might can fix it if you want.

I was/am having issues with my Protank (purchased from US supplier, but the Kanger Protanks at Fasttech are authentic). For me, it is an issue with (do they call it a head?) the metal part that heats up in the middle doesn't "hit" the battery part enough. I've had to take the bottom off (which I do to fill it) and twist the middle metal thing so it is more flush with the bottom. It seems to ride up. Both times have fixed the "not hitting, thus not really vaping" issue I was having.

First, try your other head and see if that fixes the problem. I have a fairly short life with my protank and evod heads, probably because I like a lot of heat on my strong cinnamon Danish juice. So, my heads typically last two or three days, and then I rebuild them, which takes about 5 minutes each. Rebuilt ten this morning, so I'm good for a month. A good video for the evod or Protank is:

There are many others. Just learning about rebuilding will help you to be able to spot problems with your heads/coils, etc. Rebuilding lowers the cost from about $1.00 to about a dime, or so. One other point is that the heads that I've gotten on my evods (same as Protank) from Fasttech have not been very good and I've had to replace them right off the bat in most cases. Also, you have to clean these tanks and heads before you use them the first time, to eliminate any metallic shavings and machine oil, etc. that finds it's way to the coils/wicks. Good luck to you!
