x9 protank from Fasttech and Ego battery issues

So I got my vapemail today from fasttech. (Woot)

I ordered 3 x9 protanks by suggestion of this forum, and 3 ego batteries

I filled up one of the tanks with Cotton Candy from MBV and just put it on my ego battery (from hotvapes). Its just a standard battery, not a twist or anything. It seems like it won't connect to the battery to make it work.
Then, I put it on one of the new batteries I got today and it worked.

Any idea why it would work on my regular(original) battery? I mean I guess it has to do with my battery since the other one worked, but what would have caused the issue?

PS Has anyone had trouble with the taste out of this tank?

Probably the Ego center pin is pressed in too far, try this simple fix:

has anyone had any problems with the taste in the x9 tank?

I've never used that tank, I have the Kanger Protank because I wanted a glass tank for damaging juices like cinnamon and I love it. It has an airier draw that I had to get used to but other than that, it works great.

I love the taste and the hit but mine starts to leak (the liquid formed at the bottom between the battery and the X9 tank). I notice when hear the gurgling sound I know it's all over and next draw has very little vapor and I can taste the fluid so I have to unscrew the battery and clean all the fluid. I'm having a horrible taste in my mouth right now after I sucked in the fluid from the last draw.

Did I do something wrong? Or I just got a defective unit?
