Different attys for different purposes. I love my MuteX for clouds and my Hobo for flavor.

I have 4 v1's. And 2 v2's. I also found flavor to be muted on the v2's. Identical builds side by side, v1 wins in the flavor department every time. The wide boar drip tip and the difference in which air holes get opened first is the culprit imho. I took the top cap off a v1 and put in on the v2 and all the sudden all the flavor came back. So I too say get a v1 over a v2 if you are a flavor kind of guy. I am now using the bottom deck off a v2 with the top cap off a v1 and loving it.

I've put about 12 builds in nine trying to like it... And cloud production is of course there but all my flavors are muted compared to the v1... Even single in single coil, the mutationx v1 wins... And the doge beats both in flavor... But that's just from two weeks of use

I really don't care about the features like the triangle heads or the drip tip... They are nice but performance is everything and it's just not there

If you want the most cloud production or compete in cloud comps, the Mutation X is your RDA. If you want flavor, get the glass cap or another RDA altogether.

The Mutation X v1 and v2 were designed specifically to maximize vapor production and it certainly does "perform" in that respect. It never did claim to be the best flavor producing RDA. Hence, the nice addition of the glass flavor cap. (VERY nice by the way) I own a Plumeveil, Plumeveil v2, TOBH, CLT, Dark Horse, Doge, and an old school Patriot. Both Mutations chuck clouds much better than my other RDA's. However, my all day vape RDA is the original Plumeveil, as it does flavor a bit better. You say, "performance is everything". The Mutation performs it's function and it performs it at the highest level.

I guess I should have read this string before I bought my Mutation V2. But here is my 2¢ for what it is worth. I am not looking to blow big clouds, but I was looking for something a little "more" than my Helios. I like that at 24 gauge, 7 wraps, at .35 ohms. Nice flavor and smoke.

I think with the Mutation X V2 the wider bore drip tip adds too much airflow limiting flavor. I have tried a few different builds and got the same result. Problem is the build deck is a little small limiting a huge coil build, but I will keep trying.

I really like the 4 post design. The triangle screw heads are a little weird, but it is OK because the screws fit well and they don't seem like they will come loose. I like the big juice well, and the air hole design. With the RDA "dry" the o-rings and fit is snug. Once I used it a bit and it got wet things became looser meaning I am able to pull off the top and drip easier.

OH yea! Tip of the day! Make sure you set the safety switch on your mech mod when building coils. How is this for a really nice twisted 26 gauge?

I like the new screws too, they don't back out and feel solid.

yeah... I'm loving the triangle head screws more and more everyday. I hated them at first, but dang they give a great connection and NEVER back out on you.

Yup, totally agree on the screws.

I'm starting to like it more. Been using mine for the last 3 days, first build on it dual 24/7 .32. All 18 holes open, coming from the Doge fully open airflow. Trying to hunt for a triangle head screw driver. Anybody know what size the screws are?

If you have the version 1 those screws will work. I will measure them at some point im sure.

Looks painful enough... 5 wraps?
