Like Fuzzy Bruce said, there are differences in the quality of both sides - you just have to do your research.

My experience on both sides is that the clones are a bit more likely to have problems, because the manufacturers are trying to not only cut the development costs, but as much cost as possible, which sometimes translates into lesser quality materials or workmanship. Again, just be careful and do the research - look at reviews and make your choice.

There is no general answer for this - you have to research the particular clone you are looking at and find out what people have to say about it. Some might be good, a lot of them are cheap crap. Are any of them identical to an authentic when it comes to overall quality? Almost never. It's still true: you get what you decide to pay for.

mostly money for me. i would like to support those who are coming out with new and wonderful things.. but when i can get functioning device for 10x less? well.. call me cheap but i so hate to separate with my hard earn coins. everything i have are clones, vaping related that is. and none have had any issues. then again, they are only 40 some odd days old.

Depends, some things you get what you pay for, my mech mod is an Americlone FUhattan (which is the clone version of the 270$ amerivape manhattan) is just as good, actually the battery vents are better by a bit in my clone! my tugboat RDA is NOT a Clone though but I have tried the clone and I didn't see much of a difference, again though it depends on the clone.

Just see it this way, the authentic maker of the product has a name, a brand. If he comes out with a bad design, poor products or other faults, people will burn him to the ground. He will loose his business. But the clone manufacturer doesn't. If they come out with a poor design, bad quality control or what not, people will say it's a clone.. What did you expect, and, you get what you pay for etc.

In the end it's up to you, do you want a quality product with customer service to back you up, go with a known maker. Or go with lesser quality and questionable customer service (ever tried sending something back to China?).

i had to change 3 top cap for the mech mod so far with FT. no hassle. they shipped them out right away, and i didn't have to return the damaged parts. they said it would cost too much to ship them back than the coat of the part. now i have no issue with that kind of service. i'm still happy. the damages were cosmetic in nature. i paid for new product, so i asked for it. i had other vendors outside of vaping that would argue with me since the issue is cosmetic.

This is easy for me. Is theft wrong ? The fakes made including trade marks etc are stealing. Vaping seems to be about the only industry this is not only acceptable but people that take that viewpoint are attacked. I put my money into the pockets of those that develop original ideas and back that up with their own time and money. And let the vitriol begin .... lol

Go to a site like fasttech look at the clones and read the reviews... if its not worth having you will know quickly.

I have bought a bunch of crap from fasttech, but not because it was crap quality... it was just a clone of something that wasn't that great to begin with.

But I have bought clones or variations on mods that don't exist elsewhere that have performed perfectly.

I work offshore and make decent money. I could order off ebay or a US site, but I wont be home for 3-4 weeks anyway. So why not buy the same clone for 75% less and stock up on authentic coils, gadgets and other stuff.

I have multiple kayfun clones that were amazing. Protank 2s, kanger evod clones by the 10 pack that were amazing after I drilled them all out.
Pipe mods, mech mods... and I have a side button Bolt clone that I have used for a year that is perfect... crappy threads... nice finish... but for 12$ its great if you hate bottom firing mech mods...

i would feel more strongly about it if the clones are being sold as authentic. as in fake, or counterfeit. however, these are being sold as clones meaning exact copy. not as authentic. the choice is up to the buyer who is paying the money for it. i know i'm buying clones, and i know they are not authentic. there is no mistaking it for authentic or kidding myself thinking it's an authentic.

is it wrong? in a big picture.. yes it is wrong. but the bottom line is this. those with money can buy authentic and be proud of it. those without the money or not willing to spend that amount of money for a battery tube can still get clone and enjoy vaping. way my clones function, they haven't let me down yet. i'm happy with them. if i had money to burn, sure i got the authentic.
