Authentic VS clone. Is it just preference?

When someone invented the wheel, it was a big deal. When someone re-invents the wheel ... not so much.

So when Trog came out with the bottom button mechanical in 2007, it was a big deal. When Nemesis, Caravela, Chi You, et-all COPIED the idea ... not so much.

I happily rock the nautilus, Atlantis and CF SUB batteries...

All authentic and working beautifully... that is my daily vape gear. I wouldn't buy a clone of any of these, nor would I buy cloned coils.

SO when its all said and done I guess I am an aspire fanboy. They make a great product and im going on 2 years of not smoking.

You wont that kind of Research and Development in a Chinese knockoff...

My first 2 RDA's were clones. They worked great for about a week and then lost all fire connection. Very frustrating! Since purchasing an authentic Patriot and Tugboat, I'm in vape heaven! The mods, on the other hand, seem to not be as problematic. I have a Tesla clone and a Stingray clone. The stingray works like a champ, but the Tesla clone got over-heated and a plastic piece fell out of it's spot and now the thing is useless junk. I think the main difference between the two is that the Stingray is all metal and the Tesla, having many plastic pieces was just weaker. Poorly made. Now that I know what I'm doing a bit more and have tested out some clones, I think my next MOD will be authentic. I'm really liking Element MODS... good luck to you!

I have several REO Grands. They're way better than the clones....oh yeah, REO hasn't been cloned yet....which amazes me. I also really like the SX Mini. Made in China, but authentic. The sx 350 chip is far better than the dna30's that I own...(4). Is the sx 350 a clone of evolv's work? Some would say yes, I say absolutely not.
I do own a few clones....most work fine. I own several authentic devices. Again, most work fine. Do your homework and buy whatever you want.

Clones are a product of the vacuum created when an individual(s) or a company do not have the appropriate business model and/or production capabilities to keep up with demand. Quality is hit or miss on clones because the manufacturer knows everybody will assumes there's a chance something will be wrong but will buy it anyway because it's cheaper.

I don't like the fact that the innovators here in the states get no compensation for the popularity of their products on the clone markets. You would think that everyone would at least try to play nice in the sand box. But then again, China and the US are two different sand boxes.

For me clones are much better: I try it, I put it away to collect dust (clone is cheap), I continue to use my authentic RG280.
