Bingo, at least 1mm. Bear in mind that the top of the positive terminal will become concave over time which may reduce your safety margin. Also if your atomizer 510 is adjustable, it may become shorter after you take the atty off and on a few times.
This type of connector is completely unforgiving of complacent use.

In my opinion the advantages are ~ reduction in device length, cheaper to manufacture, easier to maintain. These types of connector are often marketed as having low voltage drop. Obviously this depends on the specific 510 connector, but compared to a good one the reduction in voltage drop is negligable.

Yes i believe it is a direct contact. i have to make sure that the rda that i'll be using has a pin that is protruding enough to prevent short right?

These direct battery / faux hybrid mods are not generally recommended as your first mechanical mod, just because of the additional safety precautions to be aware of. Direct battery mods are not learning devices, they should be reserved for experienced mech users. Using an incompatible juice attachment on a direct battery mod can cause a battery to short circuit, and this leads to a battery venting or thermal runaway. Please be extremely careful because many of the mod explosions of recent months have been with new mech users using an incompatible topper on a direct battery mechanical mod.

I have no problems with clones per say. Clones are basically cheaper replicas of something authentic. Quality must be determined on an individual case experience. I'm not about to make a blanket statement that all clones are okay to use in all cases.
