I add all the cost (hardware and flavors) together and estimate how much juice i can make out of my collection. For 120ml that would be (Euro) E11,-
I usually vape around 3ml a day, costing me E0,27 per day. Now on average when i would buy 120ml of ready-made juice around here that would cost me around E26,-. Is DIY cheaper than buying ready-made juice? On the long run it is. But it depends on how crazy you are with buying flavors 'n stuff.

When I figured it out, DIY was costing me about 23 cents a day to vape. When I splurge and buy my favorite pre-made juice from KickBass, it costs me about $2.00 a day to vape.

By my half-... calculations, DIY was roughly 10% of the cost of pre-made juice. I wish I was rich because I sure love the taste of their juices:)

I only bought small amounts of lowish MG nic (120ml and 36mg) since this was my first experiment with DIY. The flavor I'm vaping right now (Limeade) would cost me $10.82 for 120ml. Still cheaper than some vendor's 30ml.

This seems high compared to some, but I'm using a rather large amount of flavoring. 15% Lime, 10% Sweetener, 1% EM and pricing for the flavors based on WL (no bulk flavorings).

If I got larger amounts of base and higher nic (100mg, 500ml) I would only save a penny per ml, its potentionally more dangerous to mix, and I'd have to add one more step (currently just cut my Nic in half by my other base to get 50/50 18mg)

Edit: If I ordered bulk flavorings (4oz from TPA), I'd be able to get it down to $8.55 for 120ml using the lower nic and amount of base.

So I decided to do the math for 18mg juice at 20% total flavoring.

I used wizardlabs prices minus shipping. 60mg nicotine, 60ml bottle and 120ml bottles of PG/VG. No size option on flavors so 8ml per flavor.

$10.21 a month / $0.34 a day

Also .. per ml, the flavoring is the most expensive additive .. NOT nicotine. Thought that was interesting.

Rounded up here's the cost per ml:
Flavor: $0.19
Nic: $0.12
PG/VG: $0.03

Again, this is using wizardlabs with no bulk pricing on flavor.

HI tc1, you didnt allow for the fact that your nic is going to go over 3 times further at 18mg per ml. Your nic cost would be closer to $0.04

I calculated it all based on the recipes I'll be using. I divided everything out per ml so the math is correct but obviously this can differ from person to person. Amount used and amount bought (at discounted prices) can effect the math greatly. This was just a *general* figure based on the purchases I made at the time for the specific juices I planned to make.

I'll be buying more soon, and at larger quantities which will reduce my cost even further. Still going to buy my nicotine premixed though, saves me time and hassle while not increasing overall cost all that much. @ dimes and pennies per day this thread certainly proves that DIY can be much ... much cheaper. The only problem now is I vape more because it's all so dang tasty. :D
