Yo all,
I got the avocado 24 as my first rta and quickly wired and wicked it with the wire I linked here, dual coil 6 wraps 0.25ohm, it was good at 65-70w, but drank the juice like hell, so I moved to single coil by removing one coil from the dual setup, but since then I have burnt taste and I hear pops when taking a hit (not the wicking pop), i even tried a dual setup of 24g kanthal a1 and when I chain vape (even 3 vapes) I hear the same pops with bad taste
What to do?

Spaced coils work so much better. Space them and I'm quite sure u will not get the burnt taste anymore. I find that contact coils eg 24 gauge thick seem to give me dry hits. And does not happen as soon as I space them. I space my 26 gauge SS316L as well.

It only happens when I take my third vape in a row, I get a burnt taste and I hear poppings, it didn't happen to me on my claptons, only the 24awg normal kanthal, and if I vape above 50w it happens earlier, also I can't seem to get the hot vape I am used to from the claptons, maybe it's my wicking?

Scottish roll works best in my opinion. And not to tight when u pull it through the coil.

So how people get to 100w vapes? With what coils? Also how can I calc the ultimate wattage so I won't burn my coils?

I think u will need to slowly pump the watts up to find the sweet spot. That's how I do it anyway when I try out a new coil.

I love warm Vapes too. I'm vaping at 65 to 75 watts. CoilArt Dual Alien Claptons at 0.21Ohms.

I'm not sure about going to 100 with those coils. But to each his own

Looks like you need a larger diameter coil and more cotton. I would say 3.5mm minimum. I had a similar issue when I first got mine. I found that it wicks much faster if you dont put the wick through the holes. I cut mine flush to the deck and fluff them up real good. Then just lay them over the wicking holes. As long as you tilt the tank side to side evry 4-5 hits it should keep the wick saturated.

I never had any luck getting a good wicking scenario with the Avocado 22 or 24.

Dual coil would lead to one wick not getting juice when the tank gets low enough unless you turn upside down (to much hassle)

I just got a Merlin Mini and wicking is much easier than the Griffin 25 or Avocado 24.

But the 2mL tank is a bit of a nuisance
