Received my Avocado 24 about a week ago. I love the look and ive read GREAT things about it. However i wish i could experience that. Im getting dry hits or little to no flavor or sometimes both. I've tried these 2 builds:

Fused Clapton using 24g nichrome as the core. 32g nichrome for the outer. 2.4mm screwdriver. 6 wraps. Usually comes out to read .2ohms. (Single coil)

Transformer build. Using 26g nichrome as the core. 32g nichrome for the outer. 0.8 flat ribbon kanthol for the outer as well. Followed by 24g nichrome. 5/6 wraps using a 2.4mm screwdriver. Single coil reads about .16hms dual reads at 0.08ohms.

I've tried these SAME buillds in ny Tsunami and Kennedy 24 & i get decent flavor. So with that said.... what's your favorite build for the avocado 24? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance!

its the wicking. the avocado is pretty tricky when it comes to the wick.

Here's what I suggest thats worked for me (was initially getting slight burnt taste as well, this fixed it).

1. Make sure your cotton ends aren't too long. I like for it to reach out just a tad under the hole, 3-4mm max.
2. Make sure you trim your cotton ends so that its tapered. If you don't do this, your cotton ends will expand once they soak up ejuice, choking the top portion of your wick in the coil due to how small the wicking channels are. Less cotton in the ends the better this thing wicks.
3. Make sure theres space so your wicks aren't filling up the holes entirely.

If that is not working for you I have a method that is very easy. Don't stuff the wicking holes at all. Seriously do not put cotton down into them.

I have gotten the avocado to wick using 2 different methods. The first more finnicky way is to taper and comb out your wick tails so that they are very fluffy feeling and only put them between 4-5mm inside the wicking holes. Then taking something thin like a needle or blue mini screwdriver tip and push it down into the wicking hole making a little air gap for wicking. This method works well for me however I noticed a lot of people posting about issues with dry hits no flavor etc.

The second way and the way I suggest for people who are struggling to wick the avocado Is to cut your wick tails a little bit longer then if you were wicking it like an rda. Measure your tails so they are long enough to touch the deck add 2 mm and cut them. Fluff the ends out and when you pull your tail end down just kind of plug the opening of the wicking holes with it. Do not push it down in but kind of lodge it into the top gently and just make sure your covering the entire opening. When you have all your wicking holes stoppered up with your wick(I cannot stress enough to not jam the wick in. Just make sure the tip is lodged in and when your confident its in there turn it upside down to make sure everything is in place. Absolutely no liquid should leak or drip down.
Now the only problem I see with this is you need to do the Genny lean a bit more but I have gotten in the habit of tilting my avocado when I'm ripping it And it just wicks like a dream! Super moist thick rips8)

I hope this helps and good luck
