An Update on my Progress on the Subtank Mini:

I removed the prebuilt 5 wrap coil from the rba and put in my 26 g kanthal 7 wraps in at .72 ohm (the dia of the blue screw) with japanese cotton wick. Using it on the sigelei 75w tem control (temp set at 300 F ) at 23w. The spitting problem seems to be very low now and the noise production during vape has also lowered a bit. The flavor isnt that great though like i used to have on my Aerotank . The vapor production is great but flavor is still missing.

You've told everyone not to buy a perfectly good and very popular device based on your problems and guess what?

You're not using it correctly.

Set your device to wattage mode or buy some nickel, post back here when it's set up properly.

I don't think you're using the temp control with kanthal. You can either run in regular power mode with kanthal, or run in tc mode with nickel or titanium.

Right. Temp control is not possible on Kanthal yet.

The closest to temp control is the Taste Control on the Asolo mod that kinda works to prevent the cotton from burning,. Don't have an Asolo but did watch PBussardo's review of the Asolo on YouTube.

The STM is my first rebuildable. Initially I had leakage issues (I most likely wrecked the o-rings in the ultrasonic), but when I replaced the o-rings, that stopped. Started out with spitting issues, but with an increased coil diameter, they completely stopped. The builds on this platform are stupid-easy, it's also very easy to fill and it's my main tank even though I'm loving my modified Aqua V2 (increased air flow). No flavour issues at all. It's currently my default recommendation to new vapers and as an upgrade from an earlier generation.

I think your last point is pertinent. Its a great tank, not without issues but still brilliant. Is the best ST available now? probably not and god knows there are enough of them now, probably more than 50. But its still a good one and has stood the test of time methinks! I wont be selling mine any time soon...

OP, post a photo of your build. There are plenty of ST users here who will be happy to help you sort any problems you're having. Chances are with a little tweaking the tank will be working nicely for you. I don't have one, but its immensely popular for a reason.

After being fed up with its liquid spitting issues on the occ coils i tried to setup its RBA for vaping and guess what? the RBA's screw is not loosening up and i had to waste my whole day trying to unscrew it to no use as of yet. Avoid this ship piece of tank if anyone is having their sights on it and go for some other tank.

I dunno?

I've got a Couple of them. All work Great for Me.

I use a twisted 26ga coil in it, around a 3/32 drill bit. I can't have the airflow open wide, or i get spitting issues (i've always had that issue with any rba, must be my wicking), but mouth to lung inhales on the tightest airflow are amazing on it

I have found with RBAs if you put the coil closer to the wall you get less spitback.

I LH it with ease for what its worth...Agreed about M2L though. Doesnt work well at all..
Are you using the old version or the new version? The new one (black/white ones) on the smallest hole setting is perfect for MTL. I use mine like that everyday!

Ahh old one but both v1 and v2 base with both rba versions. MTL possible but I just think this isn't the ideal device for that style!!
