Awaiting V4L Starter Kit

Status

I ordered the V4L starter kit with 2 batteries, carts, passthrough, PCC, and the wall and car charger. I'm sure there are mods out there, or probably even different models, that would give me a better experience, but this seemed like a simple way to start and successfully substitute smoking analogs with vaping.

Does anyone have any general tips that would make this a more successful switch? I smoke over a pack a day now, and I've ordered a slew of sampler cart packs in 16 and 22mg. Smart move?

My biggest concern is my terrible track record with attempting to quit smoking. I'm sure I'm not alone, but I've tried cold turkey, patches, lozenges, reduced nicotine cigarettes, Chantix, and gum. No success. I REALLY want to quit poisoning my body with smoke. Vapor sounds like a far lesser evil.

Any ideas, tips, or suggestions are welcome.

This is not like quitting smoking. It's like continuing to smoke except it tastes/smells different.

SMELL THE VAPOR. Cigs bathe you in smoke so you cannot help smelling them. With ecigs you need to remember to let your nose have some vapor to inhale and smell. For many flavors, most of the flavor IS the aroma. There is no visual, no texture. The tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour, umami (MSG). Everything else is aroma.

To not have running-out-of-batteries problems I set up chargers at work, PCC for when I am out. I also bought spare batteries and I leave one set up overnight to remove bedtime and morning stress/disruption.

If you plan well, you can just shop on Vapor4Life sales. They have great sales. I buy plenty of stuff then restock well during their sales. I never buy at full price. I am not sure but if you ever need to buy when it is not a sale then I think the code SMILIN may give 10% off

Some V4L cartos are overflavored and/or have very strong TH. Some people who buy 24mg find they need 18mg or less, at least of some flavors. You may want to buy some lower nic juice you could add to a carto if it is too strong. Or just buy some lower nic cartos to try.

My fave flavors are WOWbacco (coca tobacco and WOWBoy is the same but w/ some mint), WOW Vanilla, WOW Sour Cherry. Samplers are a good way to try flavors

Cartos are not good for testing juice. It is not easy to clean and dry a carto. Few are successful. They are meant to be disposable. By keeping them damp with you you can prolong the life of one carto to 4-7 days or more.

You can screw a DSE901 atty on a V4L (KR808D-1) battery. If you bought auto batteries you can use DSE901 carts on it. If you bought manual batteries you can use carts or a drip tip. This is a good way to test juices. Putting a juice in a blank carto is NOT a good way to test a juice.

KR808D-1 manual batteries still have a hole in the middle of the threaded end but are harder to kill with juice leaks. Autos are totally dependent on a drag sensor right inside that hole.

I am new too but have to add, if you get headaches and feel off. Drink lots of water and get lower nicotine levels. That was a mistake my husband made last time. He got 18 and 24mg carts. This time we got 8mg and 4mg carts. Finding lower mg more often kept us busy and kept the monkey on our back away while not having to worry about overdoing the nicotine.

Drip tips - just go to LiteCigUSA.net and get one or more of the plastic or black delrin drip tips for 510/901/KR808D-1 - those are what I use and their shipping is under $3

Same shop has standard resistance DSE901 atomizers (do not get LR - those are for 450mah+ fat batteries) and carts for them.

And if you run across the fancy swirled ones anywhere, I find them too tight. It's like their valley for the o-ring isn't quite deep enough so the o-ring sticks out too far.
