Hi and welcome. I am afraid they're right: practice and practice some more. There's a learning curve, but it's usually quick. For the fluctuation, make sure your screws are tight, and leave more space between the coil and the barrel, if the wire expands to touch it, it will short out,

Thank you very much...i will definitely get better...newbie to dual coils and it is frustrating..lol
And I forgot to add: all metals increase their resistance with temperature; meaning as the coil gets hot resistance goes up. This is normal and unavoidable,

If you're getting jumping ohms, it's a connection problem. Check the grub screws and make sure the coil(s) are not touching the screw down metal part of the rba There can also be an issue with the BB/BBB rba making proper contact in the base, resulting in a short.

There's a thread somewhere in the rta section here regarding that problem that involved mounting the rba and base on upside down so you didn't end up tightening it so much the bottom of the rba would distort. I know that's not the most helpful, but if you search it should be there.

I struggled with 28 guage to point where I will not use it anymore. I found it really hard to get a decent connection at the posts and found that the coils deformed when I wicked them because the wire is so thin. If this is the case also for you, you could try twisting two strands together for each coil. This will make coil stiffer and provide more purchase for the post screws. This will also lower the resistance by about half, but as you have a regulated device this is not important. You can twist the wires together by hand or use a power drill for a tighter twist.

That is mostly what I use now. Keep in mind that a 3 core fused clapton will have slower ramp time than simple clapton does.
I love my 3core AVS ss fused claptons but do have to change it up occ because I want faster ramp up. Just ordered spool of twisted ss316l.

I haven't built out the rba yet. So dual triple fused Claptons can fit in there? how many wraps?

Oh dear, so sorry. Forgot we were talking about BB/BBB for a moment. Was just talking about clapton coils in general. Can fit dual 2core fused clapton in BBB. Don't know about BB tho. Used that about an hour and it was off mod, cleaned and has been in box ever since. Used BBB off and on a couple months.
