I used to stuff my own, didn't take me long to avoid brands like gambler that were mostly "expanded tobacco", not just the taste, but they burnt so fast it was crazy. There are Stuff Your Own forums, and expanded tobacco was compared to what a piece of rice would normally look like, and what a piece of rice processed like in breakfast cereal looks like, mostly air, but several times the size.

Other than expanded tobacco, I believe most of what is used in stuff your own is less processed than what you get in pre made cigarettes.

Interesting side note for DIYers, Seedman sells different types of tobacco seeds and flavorings that are meant to be sprayed on tobacco. The Seedman Flavors you see at places like WL, were originally intended to be sprayed on tobacco.

Well, I vaped for a very long time before when this stuff started getting popular, and went back to smoking because the products just weren't as good as they are now. For me, that first cig back was bummed from a friend. I smoke like 3 hits of it and got an intense nicotine rush (which is something you still don't get from e-cigs.) It knocked me on my ... and made me a little sick. It tasted bad, made me feel bad, etc.

Who knows why I do the things I do, but I had my own pack the next day. I have been 18 days cig free (after using both analogs and e-cigs for around 6 months) and won't look back now. Problem is, my room mate still smokes in the apartment. My eyes are always burning, the smell.. oh god the smell when he lights up. If he's in his room with the door closed I can smell tat wretched smell from my room with the door closed! I don't want to tell him to go outside or anything, but it's disgusting. I take it as a constant reminder of how truly disgusting they are, and how e-cigs are really a way to break free of them.

I took a single puff after about a month of vaping only and found it so disgusting, smoking was no longer optional, and have been vaping ever since. Missus is the same way. Vaping appears to ruin smoking enjoyment.

This is me, too. I had a few packs around when I started vaping. After a only a few days, I smoked about 1/2 of an analog and it tasted a little rough. A week later, I tried another, and it was just awful to me. I kept the analogs around for another few weeks but had no interest in them. It was a big deal to me when I finally tossed them along with the .... cans.

I found a cigarette in the house about a year and a half after I quit smoking and decided to try it just because I was curious what my reaction to it would be. There was absolutely no desire to smoke a cigarette, just pure curiousity. It surprised me that it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, but honestly the smell of it was overwhelming to me and I hated the smell being in the house again so after just a couple puffs I put it out. While I was in no danger of returning to smoking at that point it did show me that with the right circumstances surrounding it it wouldn't be difficult to smoke again if I could get over the horrible smell.

i smoke cigars once in a while. i might smoke 2 or 3 a year. they can have some fantastic flavors, various woods, pepper, white spice, leather, nuts are some of my favorite flavors in a cigar.

3 Mos for me & with my still smoking wife.
No intention of going back.
After experiencing the actual flavors of natural tobaccos and blends. happydave's method would be the only thing I would even be remotely interested occasionally.

The occasional analog I have always ends up the same way, two to three puffs, cough, then crush it under my boot. Followed up by a taste of disgust, regret, & a pull off my vape to try & wash it away, vowing to never again light one of the stinkies. Currently several weeks analog free, but will invariably light another one in a moment of stupidity, followed immediately by a moment of clarity.

I haven't smoked an analog since I started vaping, l literally quit the same day because I had a cold and it hurt to inhale tobacco.
I'm curious to know if anyone here smoked an analog after a prolonged period of strictly using vapor? and if so what was the experience like?

Same here.
However, I did not have a cold. I stopped smoking tobacco cigarettes as soon as I took up vaping because I had found something better than inhaling smoke. Much better. Very much better. That was on 4 November 2011. :)

I have smoked tobacco cigarettes twice since then.

1st time:
3 weeks into vaping. 2 of my batteries had broken down and the 3rd was charging. There were 5 tobacco cigarettes left in the openened pack that had been lying on my coffee table - untouched - for 3 weeks. - Ewwwwwwwwww.... The 5th tasted just as horrible as the 1st.

Lesson learned:
Get enough equipment. Now. That is NOT going to happen to me again!

2nd time:
approx 6 months into vaping. (I was a heavy smoker for 35 years, before I started vaping)
Out with friends, a long day, I did not take enough batteries. Garden restaurant, sitting with friends, talking and drinking. Batteries dead.
Oops. You do not wipe away a habit of 35 years easily. Especially not in that situation: out with friends, talking, drinking.
So, I bummed a few tobacco cigarettes to tide me over. - Eewwwwwwwwwww.
When I got home, I vaped away a whole 1 ml, to get that taste out of my mouth, my throat and my lungs.
Eewwww. Eewww. Eewwww.
I have heard some people longing for smoking when they vape. Not me. I was longing for vaping while I smoked. :)

Lesson learned:
Girl Scout motto: be prepared :)

Well, that 2nd time was over 1.5 years ago.
In the meantime, I do not feel the same way any longer when drinking. In addition, I would know how to help myself.

Found an old analog under the sofa the other day, tried it. It tasted good the first few puffs, then acquired the routine ciggie taste I remember from smoking days. Tossed it. I remember the same thing happening after manifold attempts to quit--ciggie would taste good the first few puffs, then I'd stop being able to taste it. Same is never true of vaping; I can always taste my flavor.

I had completely quit smoking for around 2 weeks. I was patting myself on the back, all excited. 3 days before Christmas I came down with the worst bronchitis I've ever had, it was probably pneumonia actually. Every time I tried to vape I choked on it, enter coughing fit, and throwing up from coughing. I also get panicky without either vaping or smoking so I had to do something. For some reason I didn't choke on cigarette smoke so I ended up smoking pack a day from then til yesterday and I'm only just now able to vape again today.

Currently only able to vape menthol and I can't even taste the menthol nor am I getting the coolness from it but I'm determined to quit smoking yet again.

I quit smoking on my birthday, since I'd made a promise to my son to quit. I did ok, used my gum, etc. but I still had dreams where I would smoke, and that bothered me. Serendipitously, my husband and I were driving home a different way than usual after a happening that made us giddy with relief, and we noticed a vaping shop. We stopped in on a whim, and I haven't had a dream about smoking since then. :) I was out with one of my friends who still smokes and it was all I could do to keep the disgusted look off my face when she lit up.

I was at my parents 50th wedding anniversary last week. As you can imagine there was alcohol involved, so I decided to try a Benson & Hedges (the first cigarette I ever had 33 years ago). I can honestly say it was not at all satisfying. I've been vaping for 9 months & I get a much better throat hit from vaping even on 12mg juice.
