I'd have a hard time if I didn't have wi-fi.
Oh Lordy you said a mouthful. I can't help it it's not available in my area yet. I used to have it. I got a smart TV that's dumb. Looking into satellite Wi-Fi what do you think? It's $65 a month. The other wifi company I had ,they're not replacing any wires. I guess they're going to go bankrupt.

Man, I don't know how you guys do it.

In our (millennial) household, between my spouse and I:

We have:

- Gaming PC
- Tablet
- Two Smartphones
- Two Macbook Pros
- Two Windows Laptops (from our employer)
- Couple handheld devices with WiFi and Internet Browsers
- Couple Game Consoles with Browsers
- Two WiFi networks

My biggest nightmare is having to go to the bathroom and not having anything to read.

I guess I over do everything... 2 Towers, 4 laptops, 2 tablets and 5 smartphones....
But then, my main vape, at work, is an Eleaf Pico 21700, supported by 3 Pico 25's (all with OBS Engine Nano's) and 2 Pico Squeezes with Wasp Nano's.
Then at home, 3 each PWM mods, 2 with OBS Engines and one with an Eleaf MELO RT 25...
I won't say how many mods and tanks the wife has...

Yeah we had a power cut the other morning. All good I thought, grabbed tablet, went online - and of course WiFi wasn't working with no power ;)
What, your network gear doesn't have backup power in the form of a UPS?
No, not the shipping company.

So I went old school - read a book with a torch, and vaped
We went 60 something days without electricity. I kept my mod batteries charged by using the car battery. Then the lights came on. Hooray!
Killed the batteries in both cars and blew up one alternator.
I'll keep the torch idea for next season.

I think you guys are conflating things. You can have internet access without WiFi. You can have WiFi without Internet access. The two are not thing same thing. :)
Can you elaborate on that please. Do you suggest creating a hotspot with my 4GS to run my laptop? I tried it and it didn't work.

Internet access can come to your home in a number of ways:
  • Satellite like HugesNet
  • DSL over a plain old phone line
  • Dial-up over a plain old phone line
  • Cable TV lines
  • A direct fiber connection
  • Via the cellular data network
WiFi or a cabled Ethernet LAN are used to distribute the internet in your home, and provide connectivity between the devices in your home.

As for why you can't use your phone's hotspot to run your laptop, I'm not sure; could be some limitation in the phone itself, or something imposed by your cell carrier. I use my phone's hotspot as a backup with some regularity and it works fine for me. Heck, at my cabin in the Blue Ridge, my phone's connection is several times faster than the DSL I have there, but I still use the DSL because I prefer to hoard the GBs on my phone's data plan for when I really need them.

I’m confused too..
Sounds like you can’t get internet period, let alone WiFi.

I wonder if you’re a figment of my imagination though...
How did you get here?

Nah, in a rural town on a farm with a asdl connection. We just never went any further with it as it was such novelty to have broadband over dial up ;)

    I'll mention a ups idea
