I like the extended cap for using the 18650. I run it at 5v with a 2.5ohm atty, & it lasts a lot longer than the 18490. I know it's over $20, but worth it IMO.

You will love the regulated power, even if you don't change voltage much.

I enjoy steady 4.2 volt in some cases i up a bit to 5volt or a little higher but not for continued use.

I agree, I rarely use the regular cap, the extension cap is on mine most of the time.
