at least a week, but mine just keeps better and better so i wouldn't worry about steeping it too long, i don't think thats possible until the nic degrades.

EDIT....i doubt it will last long enough for that to be a problem

Thanks Phorbin,

Just tried it out of the box and well....I don't know. It's also alot thicker than most of the other stuff. I'll put it in the closet for a while. Right next to the Casablanca.

its a pretty subtle flavor by itself. mixes very well with a LOT of other juices though so if you don't like it on its own don't fret. you'll find something to mix it with.

Come to think of it, I tried some "Other Brand" RY4 just before trying the Malty. That is probably it. I was letting the "Other Brand" RY4 sit for a week hoping it would get better but alas it will be off to the classified section with it and its two brothers. I stand 0 for 4 on "Other Brand" juice.

Well time to Gargle and try to get my taste back....lol

So Far, i like all three of the flavors i got, I'm not getting much nutty flavor from the honey flue nut, but i suspect and look forward to it coming out more as it ages. The applewood is a nice somewhat tart tobacco and apple flavor, and from what i read it will become less tart in time and more rich and smooth. Either way it decides to go is fine by me. The Hunters blend had a flavor i couldnt put my finger on but out of the mailbox i came to the conclusion that it tastes a lot like red man chewing tobacco or beechnut, a flavor i'm partial to. These are just my first observations and i'm excited to taste what these flavors mature into!

Now the real challenges: 1. Make sure they last long enough to experience the steeped flavors, and 2. find out what the heck do do with these fsusa flavors i have no use for anymore!

I take the cap off the bottle of my applewood and let it sit over night. It's much better after that and it gets better with age too IMO.

There is a Commandment that states: Thou shall not steep BWB with the cap off.

You are a bad BadThad! Lol!

Seriously, leave the cap on...just shake it really hard for a couple of days...does the same thing without allowing the product to evaporate.

Folklore....scientifically, he exposed surface area is minimal and the only loss will be to the most volatile fractions of the mixure. The next bottle I do this to I'll prove it by weighing in the lab on an analytical balance before and after. For me, the flavor is greatly improved from this process.
