I've ALWAYS got a little back in both state and federal because I make sure to put just a little in so I don't have to pay in. Last year for the first time in my life I had to pay the feds over 2 grand! Talk about ...... off! I checked and adjusted my W2 witholdings for this year so I had better not have to pay in again. If I do then they'll get their money on April 15 or I might even apply for an extension.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for road repairs and new bridges and such but don't take my hard earned money and hand it over to all the countries around the world that hate us to begin with. And don't even get me going about the "fleebaggers" in Wisconsin.

rant over... :)

Are you calling me a fleebagger?

LMAO. Not unless you are one of those elected officials that the state troopers are trying to find. They have earned that name.

It's pretty complicated up here vaps. It angers me that Scott Walker is using the guise of "fiscal responsibility" to break a union. That is the sole purpose. I personally don't care for what unions have become but thousands upon thousands will be harmed because he wants to be the big shot who broke a union.

He and the Republicans (of which I am one) were elected to cut wasteful spending. They haven't spent one minute on that. I guarantee you I could find thousands of way to cut wasteful spending without doing so much harm. But that is not their intent. They have in fact already added to it.

For anyone who thinks "why shouldn't they have to pay more for their pensions, insurance etc." please read the article that I have linked. It's true.
The Wisconsin Lie Exposed – Taxpayers Actually Contribute Nothing To Public Employee Pensions - Rick Ungar - The Policy Page - Forbes

Every one of us has a "value" assigned to us when we get a job. Whether it is distributed with more on the paycheck and less benefits or more in benefits and less on the paycheck..........it all comes out the same.

I want wasteful spending addressed. And I want a government that is not going to pick every ounce of flesh off of our bones like a vulture. At least a vulture does it so they don't starve. Our government officials are doing it out of greed which I detest. You can even be rich without being greedy but there is way too much greed at the top levels.

And what do we do? Either nothing or we turn on each other instead of placing the blame where it belongs and demanding accountability from them.

Here is the other side. The states are finally realizing that they are not going to be able to fund these things anymore. The private sector has been getting rid on pension plans for a long time now. It's about time the public workers follow suit. I'm sick and tired of having to pay more and more so unions and government workers can continue to get their golden benefits and killer pensions.

I am a teacher, though not in Wisconsin...
I knew what I was getting into when I chose to teach -
Let's put it this way...

I made more as a car salesman in 1997 when I was 27 years old than I make per year now after 3 years of grad school at Yale and 2 years extra study at the university of Delaware... 11 years teaching and coaching two sports...
I still make 11 thousand less a year than I did that one year in 1997.

I love being a teacher - but the pay does suck...
As much as I love it, I'd do something else in a heartbeat if I could make more money.

I am so sick of the whole controversy over qualified vs unqualified... who's to blame for illiterate students etc...

All I know is that I am quite qualified... and I work my tail off...

I truly feel like crying some days... I feel like I am so stuck... I don't think I could possibly work harder... I am on so many committees - I volunteer for everything... I never shoot home at 2:38 and call it a day...

and the guy who doesn't work that hard at all basically gets the same salary as I do.

I wish I could win the lottery, get abducted by aliens or maybe Bill Gates could start a foundation to help pay down the college loans of "good" teachers before they decide to flee the profession...

I am anti teacher union for sure.
I understand they protect me - but they also protect the multitudes that drag our salaries and respect down.

I think public education is so important and we have degraded it so badly in so many states...
Hiring incompetent teachers, lowering standards... losing our academic and vocational focus...

I am afraid the only place it can go is to become completely privatized.

Delaware... this tiny state... has more private and parochial schools than any where else in the nation (per capita) - (I believe)

again, I knew what I was getting into... it's just that what I stepped into got worse instead of better -
and while I am grateful for the awesome benefits, they really don't compensate nearly enough for the amount of education and training I have received.

I am to blame... no one else... I understand.
It just got worse than I thought it would.

I would truly love to address this with you but I will have to bite my tongue and not hijack the thread.

Lol. Well anyone that can combine 007 and Jerry Garcia in their signature should be allowed a few liberties.

BTW how are liking your Infinity? I have a Provari and it is definitely one of those "out of my cold dead fingers" PVs, but I am looking for a backup VV that would be more suitable to carry on a night out on the town.

LOL~ thank you and I'll take them!!!

VV is definitely the way to go, I could never go back. And I love my Infinity. It's very thin and a voltage wheel is like a BIC and esay to adjust on the fly .
