Yeah I agree that article is a bit silly, and just like every other media publication it is bound to be riddled with bias, influence, misinformation, or incomplete information.
The part about diacetyl irked me, its like saying "Hey let's see if cars are safe, here is our test vehicle *unveils 1977 Ford Pinto with a rusty bumper and, 1995 Firestone tires*"
Although reality should be the contrary, I doubt much research was done prior to writing and publishing this article other than talking to a clueless old woman and googling what PG/VG/Diacetyl are. There are forums populated by chemistry-minded folks who detail the near removal of the few juices still containing Diacetyl, debates over it, and the general consensus is that people don't want unneccesary chemicals in their body in order to get their nicotine/vaping fix.
Just this shift of attitude towards being more health conscious is positive, even more-so if it saves lives and money...don't let outside ignorance take that away from you.
