In an iffy zone...I think we'll be okay though...just live near the lake , which they say will get nasty wave action tonight~we were flooded bad this spring already.
Well, we cancelled our backpacking trip for obvious reasons. We did get a chance to head down to MD yesterday for a day hike/swim, but no man vs. wild action this time.
Winds are picking up in Philly now, as well as rain.
I'm in strong island too, smack dab in the middle as far as north and south goes so prolly no flooding here. A lot of hurricane parties going on. $1 drinks, "hurricane" mixed drinks, and uninterrupted power via generator . My broski is putting his mechanic skills to the test working on our 25 year old powermate generator just in case they shut down power due to flooding and such. Spent a lot of money this weekend on preparation so we better actually need all this stuff .. Better yet we better NOT need this stuff
Yeah I heard about that and had to turn it to the news. It was pretty hard to believe that Time Square was even shut down! Did I hear right? There was an eartquake on the EastCoast???
Last week we had one...every once in a while those happen...I didn't feel it but it was a wide spread one, Virginia...all up the east coast, just like this hurricane.
Hey Whis...good morning. It's raining here (moderately). It is windy as well. We've gotten some heavy downpours that last a minute or two, and some BIG gusts of wind. The news is saying that the worst will be over by around noon here, but will still continue on throughout the day. The gov. has closed one of the highways, due to the trees proximity to the road, and has banned trailer trucks from being on the road right now. About 200,000 w/o power in CT. Hopefully....I will not be one of them. batteries are all charged up just incase!
