Mornin' everyone. Supposed to be a rain soaked weekend here and it's starting today. There's a low pressure in the Gulf and they're saying it's going to sit right over southern Louisiana all weekend. Expecting 40-50 mph winds and a lot of flooding. Hmm...sounds like a normal summer weekend here. LOL! Only problem is that I have a gig Saturday night and it should be REALLY fun hauling music equipment in that weather.
They just said on the news that there's a possibility it could develop into a tropical storm or a weak hurricane. At least maybe it will put that marsh fire out in New Orleans East which I've been smelling all week long.
It's all good whiskey! We're a persistant bunch of people here. Things are getting a little better everyday. There are some places that are still pretty messed up from the big "K", but most of the city is back up and running like clockwork. As long as the Saints are winnin' and Mardi Gras happens every year we're good to go! LOL
Yeah they are still a work in progress, but the Army Corp of Engineers assured us that they can take a Cat 5 hurricane now.
They went a little higher. I think the main problem was that they were weak. There wasn't a whole lot of overtopping. The levee just completely collapsed because of the force of the water during Katrina.
There were some other factors too, but I think it was mostly because they were very weak. We've never seen a storm like that one before so nobody knew what to expect.
A little more everyday! Y'all have a good day! I'm off to work (today is my late day - till 7pm UUGGHHH). Now I just have to figure out what juice I'm gonna take with me. Hmmm...I think it might be a Honey Flue Nut day!
