Back with a vet bill of $496.65....
Heartworm/Lyme & tick meds, check ups....Lordy

I know how you feelin whiskey. Sometimes, I feel like I spend more money on medical bills for the dogs than I do with my kids. Also the dentist bills. I took my Yorkie for a teeth cleaning and it cost me over $200!

Teeth cleaning every 3 years for mine, last year it was $185, so that sounds about right, they have to knock them out to do that, so I understand the cost. If anything else needs doing, I have it done while they are out for that, sos to cut the cost down a little.

I think teeth cleaning for dogs is over rated. Just give them a bone or log or small child to gnaw on and they'll be fine. ;) :D

Our vet recently started spraying our dogs teeth with that plaque remover stuff and I couldn't believe the difference in the dog breath department. The vet told us that with our aging dogs it's not good to put them under the stress and anesthesia <sp?> just to clean their teeth.

True Vaps about putting them under too many times...as with humans, its not good to do frequently, thats why its done every 3-4 years, and usually by that time, they need other stuff done , so I wait if its not life threating to have everything done at once.

I'm not sure what the stuff is called sash. I know there is cheap knock off stuff out there that you can buy but the stuff the vet uses is $$ stuff. I think the wife told me you can buy it from them but don't hold me to that.

I could call them and ask if you'd like?

I agree whis. I'm sticking with just letting them gnaw on small children and neighborhood cats though. It gives them good exercise. :D
