apparently so were my parents, although not to the extreme of not being able to see the carpets or anything. Just to the extreme of not being able to see from one end of the attic to the other.

I hear that Phorbin...my dad's place is going to be a nightmare...besides the fact he's a hoarder....

My Dad is extreme...he's an antique collecter....some of the stuff he has we know about value...a ton...not so much, thats whats gonna make it VERY difficult.

Hey Whiskey, When you go thru your dad's house if you come across any rug beaters that you want to get rid of send pics. My wife has what is undoubtedly the world's largest rugbeater collection-somewhere around 700-800 all different. We have rugbeaters everywhere! And that's just one of the 19 antique collections she/we have.
