Some flavorings may be suspended in alcohol. This will leave an after taste
until the juice ages a little and the alcohol diminishes. Nicotine has a naturally
peppery taste. Some more than others depending on the strain of tobacco's
used. Tasteless nicotine is available. One can make small single flavor test
batches to see if one or more flavors leaves the aftertaste to which you refer.
Alternative manufacturers flavors may work better.

As a diy er one other thing i like to add if that after taste does not go away after it sits for a while.
Try cutting back on the flavoring as this happened to me some years back when i first started out.
As a note i use concentrated flavoring at 2.4% max but that is whats called concentrated flavoring.
I'm using tfa and Capella at 5-10%

I have found that heat is the best way to rid a DIY mix of the alcohol aftertaste. Never heat it more than 150°F and you should be fine. I found this because of heating the e-Liquid in my tank while vaping and not appreciating the taste. When I went back to it the next day I was pleasantly surprised.

What specific flavorings are you using? There are quite a few capella/tfa flavors that are not meant for vaping, for drinks and whatnot, the problem is most websites sell them along with the others and no mention of what is what... Anyway a lot of those drink ones will have a chemical aftertaste.

If not, you're probably just sensitive to it, try switching over to Inawera flavors, most translate really well to vaping and taste really clean.
