Bad aspire nautilus coils!!!!!!!!

I recently had some bad experience with my aspire nautilus coils tasting burnt and flooding so I emailed aspire and this is what they told me. I thought I would share this with u guys so u guys can be aware of these bad coils.


Dear Cameron,

Thank you for giving us your feedback. In order to uphold our reputation for producing high quality vaping products, we are addressing recent complaints regarding the Aspire Nautilus coils.

After further analysis of the coils, we have pinpointed what was giving certain e-liquids a burnt taste. We found that the rope fibers inside the coils were not thick enough for the atomizer to reach appropriate heating levels. Thankfully, these rope fibers were only used in a limited number of products.

We have corrected the issue and are now using rope fibers that will allow customers to enjoy the full flavor of the e-liquid.

The Aspire team is taking full responsibility for these products. We are going to fix this problem by provide our direct distributors and wholesalers with the modified replacement coils. Customers can exchange their defected coils with the new coils at the store where they purchased their Aspire Nautilus from. The number of new coils issued will be proportional to the number of original Aspire Nautilus products purchased.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Our research and development team is working hard to provide the best possible product to our customers. We are constantly seeking ways to improve our current line of products while also developing new products that will give consumers the high quality vaping experience that they are looking for.

I wish kanger would give some sort of explanation lol.

"We figured out we were using dental floss instead of rope fibers which is why the heads die within 24 hours... Sorry about that"

You wouldn't like Kanger's explanation. It would be something along the lines of "our tolerances just aren't very good".


I've actually figured out what is causing a lot of the horrible burnt taste with Kanger heads in their Aerotank. The silicon sleeve that sits on the top of the coil is inconsistent in length and on some coils it compresses the wicks and prevents juice from flowing through them properly. You can actually see the defect before you ever use the coil.

Good coil...

See how the wicks are in a nice straight line with no compression?

Notice how the sleeve is compressing the wicks on the right side?

If you cut small notches in that silicon sleeve so the wicks can stand up straight they stop giving dry hits and burnt taste. The coils simply aren't able to wick properly if that silicon sleeve compresses the wicks.

This can be read one of two ways:
(1) They will exchange faulty heads for new ones at the online store when the new heads come in,
OR
(2) They will not exchange but you can buy the new ones when available.

I'm guessing it's the latter. Say goodbye to consumer confidence in your products Aspire, from now on I will stick with Kanger, the new Aerotank Mega is fantastic.

I've heard of this as well.. I haven't tried to fix them because now that I got my kayfun, my aerotank is collecting dust..

plus with the new heads that they are using with the Mega .. i dont think we will have to worry anymore. Either way thanks for the heads up!

Heh exactly.. I doubt they will be replacing all the heads for people.. or they will be like 'you need to send in the bad ones on your own dime and you need ALL of the heads that come in the packaging'
