I have been having a heck of a time with 510 attys. I get a couple of drags with good vapor and taste then it dwindles down to nothing. I just put a new from the wrapper 510 on my PV this morning and by midnight, it is barely making any vapor, even with a double hit (taking a long , slow draw, storing some of it in the lungs and taking another long slow drag while still holding the button.) I was even having to take double hits when i first put it on in order to get the decent vapor and taste. This is even with fresh batteries...

Ever since I started vaping, I have had this problem with 510's..am using the regular resistance attys...I have tried low resistance, and don't get more vapor, just get more throat hit and it tastes burnt to me. Any suggestions?

Are you dripping the juice on to the atomizer, or using the prefilled carts? Do you ever blow the atty's out and clean the contacts?

I usually use blank carts that I fill myself and I do blow them out occasionally and clean the contacts. However, I just blew the one I was using out and it seems much better. I am still not getting the clouds that you see on all the videos, but it is way better than it was.
Most of the time I use a 901 which does much better, especially when dripping.
I read somewhere (not sure where right now) that when filling the carts you fill it till it starts to pool and that is good, but I found that I was flooding the attys that way...less than that and after 2-3 hits and I start getting a burnt taste and the atty is really hot.

I usually fill the carts until the top is slushy, not pooling. Make sure that the fill is high enough in the cart to make good contact with the bridge of the atty.

With the new atty, make sure you blow the primer liquid out of them before using. Then drip 4-5 drops of your juice of choice on the bridge. It sounds like the atty is running dry.

I do blow the primer liquid out before I put them on. Now, I built a 901 mod that I have been using religiously and it does ok. Still not the clouds that I see on these review videos, but still pretty good, and it feels as though it blows the vapor even if I don't draw.

I am getting the nic and the throat hit that I am supposed to, and I like the high nic juice 24-36 depending on where I order from.

I kinda figured that I was flooding the atty because I did get the gurgling so I backed off till the filler was just slushy as clark suggested and that seems to have helped a little. Now it is almost as much vapor as I used to get smoke from an analog. Not quite that much, but close.

I read a review of a carto on litecigusa.net and someone else seemed to have solved their problem by switching to regular resistance cartos. Been thinking I will try that. Maybe it is just the brand I was getting?

Anybody have any specific preferences or prejudices for 510s they want to suggest?

ArtificialReef, I've switched from carts to cartos and found them a lot better...get a lot more juice in them as well.

I use the 'condom method' to fill them a either spin them or 'wrist flick' the carto to make sure the juice goes through the fill and that the cartos are full.

With a new carto I get approx 30-35 drops in there and refill when I detect just a slight taste change. Refilling is usually between 20-25 drops.

My preference is the standard 510 Boge soft tops.

When this situation occurs, especially the really hot and no vapor part, remove your cart and then your atomizer. What I have found is the bottom of the atomizer and connector wet. If so, blow out your atomizer and dry both with a tissue and only put the atomizer back on slightly tighter than before. Can you get vapor now (known as tailpiping without a cart)? If so, your atomizer is still flooding. Some brands of atomizer are notorious for flooding. Try a little more filler in your cart.

I like a lot of vapor myself and mix my liquids at 50/50 PG/VG.

Also, just so you know, the vidoes showing a lot of vapor are in 2 dimensional while we see in 3 dimensional. In 2 dimensional it flattens everything you see which makes the vapor look more dense. If you were sitting next to the person making the video it would not look as dense.

Hope this helps...

I did that just now, with my trusty 901 Pic to follow. It was my first mod...ugly as all hell but works all the time and I get the bast vapor from that. It helped a lot, but I think I still need some more filler. I was considering trying one if the cart mods. I have been reading a lot about them lately...

I want to eventually start mixing my own flavors. I have yet to find one that I want to vape all day...The closest that I have come is a menthol...I think I have to get away from the Dekang juices and try something a little better.

Yes, now that you mention it, that makes sense...Thanks to all for the advice. I do want to try the cart mods, and I definitely want to at least try out the cartos...

Got it....This is what I have been waiting for. I had previously not tried them before, but now I have and I have to say that cartomizers are definitely the way to go for me!!!!!:vapor::vapor:

I got some Boge soft tip LR cartos from madvapes and some good juice from backwoods, and WOW what a difference. No burnt taste and full of warm vapory tasty clouds...Perfect!!! I am set...Now on the the hunt for my all day vape...I have tried a bunch of different flavors and I have liked many of them but have yet to find an ADV, though I suspect RY4 from backwoods. Last time I ordered they were out:(

WOOHOO!
